The Criminal Investigations of the Sri Lanka Police Force are hopelessly inadequate.

The Sri Lanka Armed Forces of the Infantry, Air and Naval Forces have done an exceptionally commendable service to the Nation in the successful elimination of terrorism from Sri Lanka

But can we say the same of the Sri Lanka Police Force ?

There are lot of murders, assassinations , assaults ,kidnapping of children and their murder, and kidnapping and assault of journalists that have not bee accounted for, the criminals are still free to continue their ferocious activities.

This reflects badly on the Sri Lanka Police Force. This inactivity or mishandling of the investigations of criminal offences puts the government into embarrassment. The interfering pseudo humanitarians of the West awaiting to accuse Sri Lanka for what ever shortcoming, find material to discredit the government in the inefficient handling of criminal offences by the Sri Lanka Police Force.

It is time that the Government puts in place a person like the Defence Secretary to accelerate criminal investigations more efficiently to find the criminals responsible for still unsolved assassinations and kidnappings.

Three children had been kidnappedrecently and their bodies found . Only action with regard to these kidnappings of children and their murders, had been the shooting of the suspects. Shooting of a suspect is not the same as taking them into custody and being interrogated so that reasons for these acts and whether they were being monitored by others could be found out.

Late Lasantha Wickramaratne’s assassination could have been solved if the police was more vigilant and quick in taking action. They could have taken witnesses for interrogation and checked on the type of motor cycles used, but there seems to be so much of dilly dallying that the public begins wonder whether the Police Criminal Investigation Department is really doing its job.

It is the same with the infamous white van abductions, the public is not kept informed of the police investigations and where they are with regard to their inquiries. This too shows the inability of the police to make extensive investigations and arrest the criminals. There is an apparent lethargy of the Police Criminal investigation Forces, that has got to be immediately attended to by the higher authorities.

The public has still to be informed as to where the police investigations are with regard to the assassination of Late Mr.Lakshman Kadirgamar. And it is the same with regard to other Criminal Offences. No Police investigations of any of the assassinations seem to have been completed and the perpetrators taken to custody.

The Police Force has to be reorganised providing it with modern investigation equipment and the personnel trained to carryout successful criminal investigations. As it is the performance of the Sri Lanka Police Force with regard to criminal investigations is much to be expected.

Sri Lanka is celebrating the victory over evil, and that is no triumphalism.

Ban Ki Moon should reconstruct UN which is now in a pitiable dilapidated condition since George Bush skipped UN Security Council, to wage a war in Iraq. The UN is now bankrupt of the purpose for which it was organised. It is now up to Ban-ki Moon to reorganise the UN to win back the trust of its Member States and make it a real forum for Nations to enter into dialogue, without confrontation. Instead of that Ban Ki Moon is preoccupied with the internal affairs of Sri Lanka as if he has nothing else to do. It seems as if it is Sri Lanka that keeps UN going.

The UN has lost the confidence of its Member State, except of course those of the Western countries using it as a pawn to realise their ambition of re-establishing their leadership in the World. They tether in UN to give weight for the fulfilment of their agenda. They would not hesitate to break up developing countries and set up new States such as Kosovo.

Ban Ki Moon warns Sri Lanka against triumphalism in the wake of victory. No, Ban-Ki Moon, Sri Lanka is not showing triumphalism of its victory against terrorism. It is a misnomer. Triumphalism Mr. Ban ki Moon is defined as “ gloating or excessive celebration over the defeat of an opponent”. Even if that be a reason, Sri Lanka is in fact celebrating the victory over an enemy that was determined to break up a territory from Sri Lanka to set up a separate State.

The word “ celebrations” Mr. Ban ki Moon is defined as “a joyful occasion for special festivities to mark some happy event.” That is what Sri Lanka is doing. It is an occasion to celebrate not to please or displease the West, and Ban Ki Moon’s retrograde UN, but for the sake of the hundreds of Sinhala Buddhist worriers who gave their lives and limbs or risked their lives to Save Sri Lanka from being hacked and sawed by a ruthless group of terrorists the West and Navy Pillay seem to have fallen in love with.

The celebration also marks the sad demise of hundreds of Tamil civilians who were brutalised, and some killed and others wounded by the despicable terrorists, and celebrates the end of the suffering of the surviving Tamil civilians who escaped from the brutality of terrorism, and for the possibility of rebuilding a Nation from the ashes of the past. It is the nature of all phenomenon that from the end of one suffering, there is the joy of a new beginning.

Navi Pillay who is a Tamil is certainly prejudiced against the President Mahinda Rajapakse and his government, as her sympathies are for the Terrorists who died promising a homeland for Tamils. A UN Official’s prejudice against even one single Member State of the UNO, makes him or her unfit to be a member of that Organisation, least of all to be that organisations High Commissioner for Human Rights. The voting of the 27 May,2009 on the resolution of the Government of Sri Lanka with 29 votes in its favour , as against the 12 votes of the Western countries was a vote against Navi Pillay who was hell bent on accusing the Government of Sri Lanka for War Crimes.

If she is a principled person, she should resign from her position as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. Her continued attempt to go ahead with investigations against Sri Lanka to implicate it for War Crimes, cries loud and clear her vindictive stand against a Member State and makes it all the more imperative she resigns from her UN post of High Commissioner for Human Rights.

She is working in connivance with the Tamil expatriates. I avoid the word diaspora to refer to the Tamil expatriates. As the words like “diaspora”, “concentration Camps” and “genocide” are best left alone, in respect to the memory of the millions of Jews who were gassed and treated inhumanly by the Nazis. That sort of humiliation to the man kind has not been inflicted by any government and least of all the Government of Sri Lanka. The Nazi concentration camps have to be seen to understand what it had been like !

In not accepting the democratic vote at the Human Rights Councils of the 27 May,2009 and insisting to go ahead with an investigation in to war crimes committed by the government of Sri Lanka in the last phase of its military operations, confirm her prejudice against the Government of Sri Lanka, and her lack of judicious independence.

Mme Louise Arbour the previous High Commissioner for Human Rights may have perceived that the Western countries were pressurising her to act according to their demands, and that may have been the reason for her to resign. If so she was definitely more independent and upright. Could we say the same of Ms. Navi Pillay ?

Ban ki Moon warns Sri Lanka on triumphalism and goes on to say that the government’s priority is to reach out to minority Tamils and Muslims. Banki Moon seems to be from another planet, hardly aware of the historical facts and the social make up of a country a Member State of the UNO, to make such an inappropriate remark.

The Sri Lanka Government had not separated itself at any time from its people, Sinhala, or Tamils or Muslims. The Sri Lanka Government was using its Armed Forces to liberate the Tamil civilians who had been kept for thirty long years under the iron boots of brutal terrorism. This does not indicated the absurd contention that the Government of Sri Lanka had failed to reach out to the minority Tamils and Muslims.

Sri Lanka does not want Ban ki Moon to tell, that Sri Lanka should provide its people humanitarian assistance. The Government is already doing its maximum to provide “unimpeded ” humanitarian assistance to its people who are now in the IDP camps. A 300 000 people rescued from the clutches of a brutal group of terrorists have to be sheltered some where. They can not be kept in the open air left to themselves. If it had been the case the accusation of the humanitarian activist who complain of the IDP camps, would have been the worst.

The immediate facilities that had to be provided to these people were not to send them to their old villages where every access had been mined by the terrorists and the houses destroyed. The only alternative was to keep them in camps, providing them security from possible terrorist attacks, pillage, kidnapping of children or even rape. The barbed wires were to stop intruders, of all sorts , terrorist or gang attacks. Not to make them “Concentration Camps”. What a shame to have called them such, Niestat !!!

But why did these Human Rights activists call them “concentration camps” ? No rescue operation of the size of that carried out by the Armed Forces in the no-fire zone, had been carried out by any army, any where else in the world. But did the UN or the International Community felicitate the Government Armed forces for that magnificent humanitarian operation. No ! instead they are being accused by these unscrupulous men and women from the Western Countries, UN and the Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International, for genocide and war crimes. All that is because they are not been given “unimpeded” access to the IDP camps.

The Government of Sri Lanka is not like the UN and the unconcerned West. The people cannot be settled immediately because amenities for ordinary human existence in the villages of these people now in the IDP camps have to be re-established, as those conditions are non existent now due to devastation caused by the terrorists determined to fight the government to set up their dreamland. The personal mines buried in their lands by the terrorists have to be removed before people are allowed to settle down.

Once all that work is done the people will be resettled. Until then the IDPs will remain in the Camps as they have no where else to go. They will be provided with the basic requirements the government is able to provide. That is what the government is proposing to do even without being told by the interfering West and the UN.

Ban Ki Moon should also understand that the Government of Sri Lanka which had fought a terrorist Group that had devastated the country and the lives of the Tamil Civilians for the last 30 years is not accountable to any one other than its own people. The transparency had been maintained right through out the military operations of the Government Armed Forces until the terrorists were completely eliminated.

About Ban ki Moon’s contention that, "Whenever and wherever there are credible allegations of violations of humanitarian law, there should be a proper investigation," It is so Mr. Moon, but there had been no credible allegations of violations of humanitarian law made so far.

And most importantly Ban ki Moon has to be reminded that to-day the 6 June,2009 is the 65^th Anniversary of the landing of the American forces on the Omaha Beach in Normandy in France to liberate France from the Nazi German Occupation.

What the Sri Lanka Government Forces did on the 18 May, 2009, was also to liberate the territory occupied by a ruthless group of terrorists who caused irreparable damage to the country and its people during thirty long years.

But the government of Sri Lanka is only receiving flaks from the so called Civilised Western World. At the time these words are being type out, in Normandy in France there is a significantly grandiose ceremony to pay tribute to the American Forces that landed on the Omaha beach to liberate France from the occupation of the Nazi Germany.

When listening to the speeches by the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of UK Mr. Gordon Brown ,and the President of USA Barack Obama, in the context of the efforts of the Western Countries and the UN to smear the memory of brave soldiers of the Government Armed Forces of Sri Lanka , some of them who had given their lives, sum their blood and limbs and others who risked their lives, the words spoken at the ceremony in Normandy seem so hollow and utterly false.

Amnesty International, or the Human Rights Watch, who have not seen real suffering of the people who had been killed and mutilated by the terrorists of Sri Lanka, the blood splattered scenes with human body parts strewn every where , the head of a suicide bomber separated from the body with the eyes open, the face smeared with blood, with a gaping hole where the neck was, dare to accuse the Sri Lanka Armed forces for war crimes.

If the terrorists were not eliminated by the brave government Armed Forces, there would have been more and more scenes of dead and mutilated bodies, and perhaps that may be what the Human Rights Watch and the Amnesty international wished for, so that it would have provided occasions for them to be very active searching for evidence of violation of human rights, to earn their living by accusing governments for such horror.

Amnesty International seems to be a weird institution accusing the Government not from substantiated information they have, but merely from what they have heard. They say “cited reports of young men being taken away from the displacement camps by pro-government paramilitary forces and said they risked being tortured or even killed”.

Who made these reports ? Were these reports verified ? Amnesty International seems to have no norms of morality. They are shamelessly unprincipled in making allegations and innuendos without valid proof.

Was there a plot against Mahinda Rajapakse to stop him from being the President ? Meanness of the West and the UNHCHR

The plot against the President Mahinda Rajapakse, and the Government Armed Forces, fizzled out at the special meeting of the UN Human Rights Council held in Geneva on the 27 May,2009.

The Western countries remained isolated with 29 countries standing fearlessly against the arbitrary decisions the rich countries of the West think they have a right to take against developing countries.

The voting at the council meeting shows how the countries of the West stood feebly before the massive vote demonstrating to the world that they are fake democrats, without principles.

The breakdown of May 27 voting on the HRC resolution concerning Sri Lanka“…….. its right to act without outside interference and also appealing for financial support for post-war reconstruction” (submitted by SL) was as follows:

In favour: Angola, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, China, Cuba, Djibouti, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Madagascar, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Africa, Uruguay, Zambia (29).

Against: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Chile, France, Germany , Italy , Mexico, Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia , Switzerland, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (12).

Abstaining: Argentina, Gabon, Japan, Mauritius, Republic of Korea, Ukraine (6).

The out come is a lesson, (if they would learn from lessons) to the West, that they are no more the Nations that dictate terms to the developing countries. They should learn from this that it is best for them to leave alone the developing countries to organise their internal affairs without being interfered into by the rich countries .

They should also understand that it is far better to give the developing countries unconditional assistance in their development, which would be a show of real generosity for which they will receive the affection and the gratitude of the people of the developing countries..

The West has not realised that the development of poor countries would help the rich countries to benefit from their wealth, and be free from internal political problems But yet having not learnt any lesson from the voting at the Council meeting of the 27 May, they now speak offensively of the countries that voted in favour of the resolution as not real democracies.

The West is still living in the Colonial past, refusing to wake up to the 21^st century. In this century they should learn to speak differently , and adopt a different mental attitude in dealing with other less fortunate nations.

In order to accuse Sri Lanka for “war crimes”, the West and Navi Pillay have begun to invent “ crimes” committed by the Armed Forces. One instance of this was the report of the UK Channel 4 which cast aspersions of rape by the armed forces reporting about three women found dead in the bathing area, and then the “story” of the two terrorist leaders who they say were killed when they came with a white flags to surrender to the army.

“War crimes”, is an undefined term. It comes from the Geneva Convention which in itself is not a legal document being only a basis for International Law. The word “War crimes” is interpreted differently by different systems of military law. However, “war” in a legal sense is a state created by a “declaration of war” in which case certain international rules of war are applied. The word “War” itself is also differently defined.

But Geneva convention and the rules pertaining to “war” or “armed conflicts” are not directly related to “ terrorism” and a government’s “military operations against terrorism”. None of the Governments or heads of States so far charged for war crimes by the International Criminal Courts, had been accused for terrorism and military operations against terrorism. If the Geneva Convention is to be applied to terrorism it would only be a means to encourage terrorism in the world. That would be a danger to the peaceful existence of humanity.

What is the greater danger today to the civil society and peace in the world. The greater danger is undoubtedly terrorism. Terrorism what ever name one would give it such as “rebels”, “freedom fighters” or “ armed conflict “ is violence, coercion or intimidation of the civil society a danger to the human existence. It is going back to savagery and primitive barbarism.

Terrorism may take an international dimension, or confined to a small country. But in either case terrorism is terrorism. There is no terrorism of the rich and terrorism of the poor. This is what the West have yet to understand. Even if they have understood what it is , they pretend not to have understood, because they are pre-occupied with their own selfish existence. They interfere into the affairs of the poor nations not to help them, but to divide and disunite them to maintain their leadership over them. That is also a form of “terrorism” they try to exercise over the poor nations.

The judicial decisions on cases for “war crimes” so far brought before the International Criminal Courts cannot even be cited as precedents, if there were to be a case against Sri Lanka. As retaliatory action against armed terrorists, and defeating them without leaving a trace for the good of the country and the generations to come is outside the definition of “war” or “armed conflict”.

If it is the shooting and killing or wounding civilians by the Government Armed Forces on which the West and UNHCHR are seeking to accuse Sri Lanka Government for “war crimes”, that too is outside such accusations as it could be pleaded as collateral damages, which were accidental and not deliberate.

In that situation Navi Pillay a lawyer herself going all out to accuse Sri Lanka Government and its Armed Forces is attempting to make a travesty of International Law. Of course she would say that the Government of Sri Lanka and its Armed forces will be tried for “War Crimes” in the use of fire arms in the no-fire zone and deliberately shooting to kill Civilians and the terrorists. That would be stretching the law to deliberately accuse Sri Lanka for “war crimes”.

Terrorism has no parallel to a “declared war” to apply the Geneva Convention. One is different from the other. Terrorists do not terrorise according to “rules” and in fighting terrorism there is a necessary derogation of rules as may be applied in a declared “war”.

Therefore, there is no possible grounds for Navi Pillai to accuse the Government Forces of Sri Lanka for “war crimes”.

But she little realises that she is being used as a pawn by the West probably led by David Miliband with whom she had recently posed for a photo. We can see how various actors had played their part to prepare the ground to accuse the SL Government Forces for war crimes.

It is stated that, “ according to the International Criminal Court war crimes include grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions and other serious violations of the laws and customs that can be applied in international armed conflict, and in armed conflict "not of an international character", as listed in the Statute, when they are committed as part of a plan or policy or on a large scale.” It goes on to mentions eight serious violations which could be considered as “war crimes”.

What the West had been doing in the past as it has been mentioned earlier is to collect evidence, by using the media, journalists, human rights activists, UK nationals planted in the no-fire zone, Doctors Working in the conflict zone, and the TV Channel 4, to one day accuse the Government of Sri Lanka and its Armed Forces for “war crimes.”

Let us take one by one the eight serious violations of the law mentioned by the International Criminal Court, and the scenario Navi Pillay along with the West, hope to set up, having cooked possible “evidence”.

1. Violence to life, health and physical or mental well-being of persons, in particular murder as well as cruel treatment such as torture, mutilation or any form of corporal punishment

The SLArmed Forces cannot be accused on this, but Navi Pillay will argue that violence to life had been committed, possibly producing the UK Citizen Damilvani Gnanakumar who was hiding in the no-fire zone as an eye witness. With regard to the “ violence to health and physical or mental well being of persons……..” She may have Anna Niastat of the HRW, who had been making accusations that the ID camps with barbed wire around is a concentration camp and the people kept inside without allowing them to go out is violation of mental well-being.

HRW and the AI had been complaining, without substantial evidence, that the people in the no-fire zone had no medical facilities and food. They also have the two Doctors who had been giving false information with regard to directing heavy fire at hospital.

2. Collective punishments.

Here she may try to get the specialist to interpret the aerial photos to say that there were heavy weapons used by the Army in the no-fire zone. But will the ICC accept it as a collective punishment ?

3. Taking of hostages

She might make out that the separation of those IDPs who had terrorists connection and keeping them separately is taking hostages. But it was a necessary security measure for the safety of the IDPs themselves

4. Acts of terrorism.

Here we do not know how Pillay will interpret it . She may probably say that attacking the terrorists when they had been cornered without any place to go, is terrorism against the terrorists !!!

5. Outrages upon personal dignity, in particular humiliating and degrading treatment, rape, enforced prostitution and any form of indecent assault

It is for this that the UK Television Channel 4 had been brought in. They have already made innuendos about rape and the three dead bodies of women found in the bathing area. It gives credence to the fact that all these had been according to a plan arranged by the West to go with the “war crimes” defined by the International Criminal Court.

6. Pillage

This she will have to invent, with the help of Anna Niestat perhaps.

7. The passing of sentences and the carrying out of executions without previous judgment pronounced by a regularly constituted court, affording all the judicial guarantees which are recognized as indispensable by civilized peoples

This she will have to skip, unless the West have some special cases to point out.

8. Threats to commit any of the foregoing acts.

Besides these there is another important item that the West tries hard to impose. It is about the two terrorists Balasingham Nadesan and Puleethevan who wanted to surrender when they were killed. Pillay has none other than Vijay Nambiar the Chief of Staff of Ban Ki Moon who says he had received a telephone call from Nadeson minutes before he was killed , saying that he wanted to surrender and that he was carrying a white flag.

The above item too had been carefully prepared to bring it as another violation under the Geneva convention which states “ …includes failures to adhere to norms of procedure and rules of battle, such as attacking those displaying a flag of truce, or using that same flag as a ruse of war to mount an attack.”

But the second part “…using that same flag as a ruse of war to mount an attack” will ,not be suitable for Navi Pillay’s purpose of accusing the SL Government Forces for war crimes, as that may just be what Nadeson was trying to do , to use the white flag as a ruse to mount an attack.” You can never say with the terrorists, though Navi Pillay has given different values to them.

In any case there would be no eye witnesses to the shootings of the civilians. Even if the British citizen had been planted inside the no fire zone to furnish an eye witness account it would not be credible in a court of Law. In the small space crammed with more than 50 000 Tamil civilians and the terrorists among them with their heavy weapons shooting at every thing moving, there would have been complete pandemonium making it difficult to identify who did what.

Hence the courts will have to be satisfied with circumstantial evidence supported by corroborating evidence. Circumstantial evidence by itself would not be a poof, but it would help investigations. But even with eye witness accounts or circumstantial evidence it has to be shown that the person or persons shot at the people purposely to kill them knowingly that they will be killed in the shooting.

The definition of war crimes by the International Criminal Court very clearly states that they are “war crimes” only when they are committed as part of a plan or policy or on a large scale.

No body with an iota of intelligence will believe that the Armed Forces had a plan or policy to shoot at Civilians with the intention to kill them. From the beginning to the end the military operations of the Government Armed Forces had been against the terrorists, and not at all against the TAMIL CIVILIANS.

Even the three Doctors the West is making a furore to protect, getting the President Barrack Obama to pronounce their names, could only give hearsay evidence, which has no great value.

Now we see how the West had been working to implicate Sri Lanka at some stage to make the military operation a failure or failing that to accuse the President and the Government Forces for “war crimes”, which may possibly provoke enough mental guilt for the President to resign. That would have allowed the West to “crown” their puppet as the President of Sri Lanka.

West swears that they will not negotiate with terrorists. But this very same West kept on asking the Government of Sri Lanka to negotiate for a peace settlement with the terrorists, knowing very well that the Sri Lanka terrorists were opposed to all negotiations. The West considers it is only those who terrorise the Western Countries who are terrorists and the poor developing countries have no terrorists for the West to spend sleepless nights.

Even Barrack Obama who cried high and low for a “ Change, Yes, We Can” has not been able to change this Western attitude to terrorism. It is only the person who has the wound that feels the pain.

The countries of the West with their misplaced concern for human rights, not accepting terrorism in developing countries as part of the “ international terrorism “, are themselves the terrorists of the developing countries,.

Sri Lanka after its victorious military operations against the terrorist, seems to have made enemies in the West, and an enemy in UNHCHR. The West and UNHCHR in the defeat of the terrorists are trying to vent their miserable state of sadness in accusing the Government of Sri Lanka.

Navi Pillay seeks to accuse SL Government for “ war crimes”.

After the plotters failed at the First and the Second Acts of the plot against the President Mahinda Rajapakse, His Government and the Armed Forces, they put in motion the third Act, which is to accuse the President and the Armed Forces for War Crimes. This time they have found a new recruit who has an axe to grind against Sri Lanka, to do the dirty work for them. It is the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay

For this they have enlisted the Human rights watch and the Amnesty International, now quite adept at making false allegations, and condemn governments mostly on imagined violation of human rights. They have also engaged the media such as the BBC and Channel 4 of UK, the foreign press such as the Times on Line, journalists and the UN Officials, they connive with the ICRC and even planted a British National of Tamil Origin Damilvani Gnanakumar among the Tamil Civilians serving as the human shields for the terrorists. They had three Doctors working in hospitals in the conflict zone, feeding foreign journalists with false information of atrocities committed in the no-fire zone by the Army.

There are no valid reasons for the West and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to accuse Sri Lanka for war crimes. The Government of Sri Lanka used its Armed Forces to defend its territory and its people against a group of terrorists who having refused to negotiate for a peace settlement, declared that they would set up a separate Tamil Homeland by force. Sri Lanka Armed Forces retaliated against the military offensive of the terrorists.

The military operations began under circumstances forced upon the Government Armed Forces by the terrorists, who wilfully closed the sluice gates of a water tank depriving thousands of farmers from water for their daily use, and to farm their lands.

However, though the military operations were forced upon the government by the ruthless group of terrorists who would stop at nothing to have their own way, the West showed sympathy towards the terrorists treating them on equal terms with the Government of Sri Lanka. From the very beginning Norway, UK and the USA through their Ambassadors continuously advised the Government against a military solution, and repeated that both parties should negotiate for a peace settlement.

In taking into account all the circumstances leading up to Navi Pillay’s adamant stand to accuse the President of Sri Lanka and the Government Armed Forces for war crimes, a plot against the President Mahinda Rajapakse and his Government is difficult to be ruled out.

The West at no stage demanded the terrorists to lay down arms and surrender to the Government. There was a feverish anti -government activity of the Tamil expatriates fuelled by the support of the Parliamentarians of UK, Canada and Norway.

There was open anti- government propaganda through both the local and foreign media -the BBC, TV Channel 4. UN was seeking to have a permanent mission to survey the conduct of military operations. A British citizen was found planted in the no-fire zone. There was repeated advice to resort to a political solution rather than a military solution against terrorism. The west put both the Government and the terrorists at the same level, calling both sides to negotiate for a peace settlement. All these fall in to place like pieces in a puzzle showing that the West taking the UN System on to its side, had been meticulously planning a plot against the President and the Government of Sri Lanka, from the day Mahinda Rajapakse defeated Ranil Wickramasinghe at the Presidential elections.

Let us go further into the manoeuvres of the West, that culminated in their implicating the President and the Armed Forces for war crimes.

The day that Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse was sworn in as the President of Sri Lanka the Western Press announced that hawkish Mahinda Rajapakse had been sworn in as the President of Sri Lanka. There was not a semblance of hawkishness in him. He was a true son of the land , an unpretentious man who loved his country and his people . His head did not swell from the office into which he had been propelled. He remained simple as he had always been. In that situation, how did the West get the idea of calling him hawkish ? And why did the West call him hawkish ?

We need not go far to understand the reasons and find the answers . Mr.Mahinda Rajapkase defeated Ranil Wickramasinghe at the Presidential elections. Wickramsinghe as every one knows is a favoured candidate of the West. A member of the very Western Mount Pelerin Society, the Asia Pacific Vice-Chairman of the International Democratic Union.

A Christian by birth, Ranil Wickramasinghe made a great effort through out his election campaign to project himself to the people as a great Buddhist. He was being groomed by the West led by Norway to be the President of Sri Lanka. He had the backing of the terrorists who entered into a Cease Fire Agreement during his Premiership. He depended on the Norwegians, who was his link to the terrorists. Norway even prepared the CFA which Ranil Wickramasinghe signed and sent through the Norwegians to be signed by Prabhakaran.

However, on the day of the election the terrorist intervened to stop the Tamils from voting. This some argue was the reason why Ranil Wickramasinge lost at the Presidential election. That was unpredicted and would have come as a shock to the West. Norway may have asserted the support of the terrorists for Wickramasinghe , and surprised when it did not materialise.

The West still depended on the terrorists to create enough problems to the newly elected President to stop him from carrying on for long in his office as the President of Sri Lanka. But Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse disappointed the West, as well as the terrorists who may have depended on their plenteous arsenal, and their ability to defeat the Government Armed Forces.

The hawkish President as the Western media called him, Mr.Mahinda Rajapakse the President of Sri Lanka having failed to get Prabhakaran to agree for a negotiated peace settlement commenced military operations against the terrorists after the Mavil Aru incident, which ended in the complete elimination of the terrorist leadership and with them terrorism in Sri Lanka.

The West never expected the ability of the President Mahinda Rajapakse the Sinhala Buddhist coming from a village in the south, with his “odd” dress speaking haltingly in English to think out a workable plan to defeat the terrorists. The West through out the well planned military operations of the Government Forces against the terrorist, sensing that every thing was not going well for the terrorists , kept on demanding both sides to give up the military option and negotiate for a peace settlement. Blake, Chilcott, Adam Evans, Martin, Banki Moon, Labour and numerous others took up the same refrain of the futility of the military option.

The West began by supporting their favourite Candidate at the Presidential election to defeat the simple man with a broad smile from Weeraketiya a remote village in the District of Hambantota in the far south. Having failed to defeat Mahinda Rajapakse at the Presidential Elections, the West continued support those who campaigned against the President and his government.

The BBC openly twisted information discrediting the Government and its Armed Forces, and favouring the terrorists. The terrorists were helped in various ways by the Monitoring Mission led by Norway taking suspicion away from them in evident instances of their involvement in murders, sinking ships or fishing boats etc. They even “invented” a third party responsible for sinking foreign vessels in the northern seas. The West utilised the expatriate Tamils in foreign capitals to campaign against the Government and its Armed Forces, helping them with special sessions in their Parliaments to discuss the military operations of Sri Lanka Armed Forces against the terrorists.

Despite all the barriers put against the Government and its Armed Forces , the terrorists were finally eliminated. This unexpected turn of events angered the West, and still smarting from their wounds of failure to keep the government Armed Forces at bay, refuses to accept Sri Lanka Armed Force’s commendable assault against the terrorists.

The most angered of the representatives of the Western Countries, who were trying to give a life line to the terrorists by calling for a pause in the fighting-a cease fire ,was David Miliband the Foreign Secretary of UK. His pride was bruised by the Sri Lanka Government’s refusal to heed his call for a ceasefire.

David Miliband seems to have worked overtime to win over the President Barack Obama, on to his side. He had then worked on Navi Pillay to fall in line with him. Now it is Navi Pillay who is blowing the whistle calling fro the pound of flesh from the Government of Sri Lanka, accusing it for war crimes, calling for an investigation of the conduct of the Government Armed Forces in the last phase of its military operations against the terrorists

The whole idea of taking the Government and its Armed forces to courts accused for war crimes will not work. It is the inability of the West to understand, that there are rules in war, but no rules in terrorism, that makes them be taken by their nose by David Miliband and Navi Pillay to ask most undemocratically, and indecently for a vote in favour of accusing the Government and its Armed Forces for war crimes.

They the West and Pillay cannot, and do not want to understand, that the SLGovernment Armed Forces that risked the lives of their men in rescuing more than 200,000 Tamil Civilians kept by force by the terrorists as a human shield under most trying circumstances, had no reason what-so-ever to deliberately shoot, at the very same civilians they were risking their lives to save and bring to safety.
