UN Chief says world has abandoned Syria’s people: May be because USA and West are preoccupied with Sri Lanka’s five year old war against Terrorism.

USA and the West  want to take Sri Lanka Armed Forces  before a tribunal accused for war crimes, rather than stop the Jihadist terrorist group Boko Haram or the inhuman ISIS killer groups.

There is no surprise Mr. Ban Ki Moon  the  West and the USA including you as the Secretary General of the UNO the most unacceptable Organisation it has become to day under your leadership,  and the UNHRC are all engaged in a more serious affair according to  them  where  in Sri Lanka a remarkable political leader of all times Mahinda Rajapakse   had  giving leadership to his Armed Forces as the President of Sri Lanka for the first time in the world  eliminated a ruthless terrorist group, and in doing so these foreigners  and the most inefficient USA Lackey UN Secretary General claim violation of human rights and killing  Tamil civilians .

They claim that the Sri Lanka Armed Forces had killed 40000 civilians during the last phase of its military operations against terrorism, the killings which they claim are pure   imagination without any substantial evidence other than those concocted by the Western and LocalNGOs, UK Channel 4 the fabricators of  lies  and the Tamils of the diaspora living in  falsehood,  to accuse the Sri Lanka Armed Forces. 

It was five years ago that Sri Lanka armed forces eliminated  terrorism but it is still hot news for the USA, and the white west fabricators of  human rights violations to accuse others while hiding their own commissions of human atrocities the world over. 

 

Therefore the World has no time for other on going  terrorism, assassinations , or  daily killings in Syria  which has awakened Ban Ki Moon. The UN ,UNCHR,USA and the white West  are preoccupied  finding ways and means  to bring the Sri Lanka Armed Forces before a war tribunal accused for war crimes for  what happened  five years ago in a just war against terrorism.

That Mr.Ban Ki Moon is the absurdity of the Western World and, the UNHRC, and the UN of which you are the head. Justice is immaterial for them so long as they could help a regime change to replace  a regime that  had dared to challenge the Western interference, with a puppet regime which will take instructions from them and remain subordinate to USA and the West.

You Mr. Ban Ki Moon , you  lied  that the  Darusman report is not an official document but an advisory report for your own use, but subsequently you released it through the Tamil terrorist sympathiser Navi Pillai as an official document to  incriminate Sri Lanka for violation of human rights and get the UNCHR to appoint International Investigators.

Mr. Ban Ki Moon the facts of the matter is Sri Lanka suffered under terrorism for thirty long years where  thousands of   civilians of all communities were massacred while you the UN and the so called International Community turned your backs without wanting to interfere then to stop the disastrous situation under which Sri Lanka was suffering . Fortunately for Sri Lanka a new President-Mahinda Rajapakse was elected by the people in 2005. 

President Mahinda Rajapakse, was able to get trusted people and an able brother Gotabhaya who already had experience fighting against  terrorism, around him and giving them the necessary political leadership eventually eliminated terrorism. 

The elimination of terrorism by the Sri Lanka Armed Forces did not go with the agenda of the USA and the West who were expecting to  see the Government Armed Forces defeated by the terrorists, and the terrorists form a Tamil State in the North which the USA and the West could manipulate for their own strategic political plans in the Indian Ocean.

Mr.Ban Ki Moon  the UN , USA, the West and their lackeys the NGOs instead of  congratulating the President Mahinda Rajapakse and his Armed Forces for eliminating a ruthless terrorists groups , turned against the President of Sri Lanka and the Armed Forces for a suddenly  acquired sympathy for the  Tamil Civilians they construed to  have died in the  course of the final phase of the elimination of the terrorists , which when it happened in their wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, et al were put as collateral damage , but in this case of  an unexpected  victory over terrorism  by the Sri Lanka armed forces they put it to violation of human rights  and making it a war crime.

Hence the UN, UNCHR, USA and the International Community coaxed by the pro terrorist Tamil Diaspora are  still working  to find a means to punishing the former President of Sri Lanka and the Armed Forces for their victory over terrorism. Hence World of the USA, the White West and the UNO, UNHRC et al ignore more important terrorism, assassinations, and war in Syria that is going on without a seeming end.

Mr.Ban Ki Moon you appealed “ on the heels of  scathing criticism from 21 human rights and aid groups who accused world powers of "failing Syria" in a report that highlighted the worsening plight of civilians, saying “The Syrian people feel increasingly abandoned by the world as they enter the fifth year of the war that has torn their country apart."

It has been reported with regard to the war in Syria, “ Last year was the deadliest yet in war  with at least 76,000 people killed out of more than 210,000 since it began on 15 March,2011 with peaceful demonstrations inspired by the Arab Spring in Egypt and Tunisia. …..” 

Perhaps the USA and White West think that all these happenings in Syria are nothing  compared to what happened in Sri Lanka five years ago, despite the fact that the President of Sri Lanka  had  five years after the elimination of terrorists  developed Sri Lanka as it had been never before.  This makes USA and the white West responsible for the deaths taking place practically every day in Syria, decapitation of Egyptian Christians(copts), and ruthless killings by Boko Haram.

The World you speak of Mr.Ban Ki Moon perhaps is too preoccupied with Sri Lanka to give its attention to  these ignoble wars,  terrorism and assassinations going on  around the worlds.

It was , on the night of 14–15 April 2014, 276 female students were kidnapped from the Government Secondary School in the town of Chibok in Borno State, Nigeria, by an Islamic  Jihadist and terrorist Organisation Boko Haram   in NorthEast Nigeria.  They are supposed to be kept as slaves, converted to Islamism and married off to the Boko Haram terrorists.  Where are these girls now ?  Boko Harram continue their terrorism unhindered. 

Why are USA , the White West,  the NGOs and Human Rights Activist not taking action against them  instead of being preoccupied with Sri Lanka’s just war to remove  a growing cancer of  terror? That war against Sri Lanka terrorists  was brutal on the part of the terrorists , but never so on the part of the sympathetic Sri Lanka Armed Forces that  risked their lives to bring to safety three hundred thousand Tamil civilians who were kept as human shields by the terrorists.

Mr.Ban Ki Moon perhaps you forget that there are more sinister religious terrorism.  It was reported recently that “the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) ) published a shocking new video on Sunday in which it showed the beheading of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians in Libya. The group, which has taken advantage of the anarchy prevailing in Libya to gain a foothold in its territories, kidnapped the Egyptian guest workers a few weeks ago and killed them as punishment for being “infidels.”  The “Takfir” is an organisation which sees all the people who are different from them, religiously or ideologically, as its  enemy.

Therefore Mr. Ban Ki Moon the USA, the West, UNO and the UNHRC are running after the wrong country –Sri Lanka, to accuse it  as having committed war crimes. Sri Lanka carried out a just war against ruthless terrorists, who were unfortunately Tamils , and if there had been civilian death in that terrorist war it was  purely collateral and unintentional.

The ill conceived effort  being taken by the West and UNCHR to make  Sri Lanka Armed Forces responsible for  the collateral  human  or material damage is unjustifiable  and most ignominious of Nations who claim themselves to be wise,  just, democratic. Christian,and humanitarian.

Therefore it is time Mr.Ban Ki Moon  that you take a stand  against reactionary Western Forces that  continue their  regime change policy to keep the developing countries dependent satellite states. 

The developing countries should be given space  and freedom to get assistance from countries like China and Russia to go forward to become sufficiently developed to  rise above under development and become middle income countries, which USA and the West will never do.

Eating milk rice with President Mahinda Rajapakse  before stabbing on his back

I did not know his back ground other than that he was the General Secretary of the JHU.  He was outspoken and seemed to have a sincere and a definite political  direction  to  be with the President Mahinda Rajapakse to take Sri Lanka towards  progress and development, breaking away the shackles of  the  colonial past, the Western dependence, to assert Sinhala Buddhist values in an evolving national  political environment.  He seemed to be a political asset to the UPFA Government of the President Mahinda Rajapakse.

At a time when I wrote a serried of article on Sarath N Silva to the Sri Lanka Guardian, I had the opportunity through a good friend in UK to speak to Patali Champika Ranawaka  over the phone.   Speaking about Sarath N Silva,  he  told me that Sarath N..Silva was at the time  taking  rather reactionary  anti government judicial decisions, but he was to retire in six months and it was  best to tolerate him until then. 

He was very understanding and spoke to me encouragingly about the government of the President Mahinda Rajapakse and that he is pleased to work with him as a President taking Sri Lanka on the correct path to development.  I liked him as a progressive political figure and watched his political contribution to the government with interest.

But his political affiliations during the latter part of 2014 took  a surprising uturn.   I refused to put him in a bracket with Athuraliye Ratana thera  whose politics was a mixed  confusion.  I thought differently of Patali Champika.  Champika was so close to the President Mahinda Rajapakse, therefore his sudden change of heart with a strange 19^th Amendment with 10 demands put along with Ratana Thero to the President for immediate acceptance failing which threatening to change camp to support the Common candidate,  was a shocking revelation of the man’s unpredictability.

But it is now that we see clearly that, Champika had been right along playing a role besides Athuraliye Ratana.  His action in quitting President Mahinda Rajapakse to put his weight behing Maitripala Sirisena was second only to the action taken by Maitripala Sirisena   to eat hoppers with the President at night, and declare the following day that he has accepted to be the Common Candidate of the UNP and the Opposition.  But I had naively believed  that Patali Champika was made of better stuff.

What made him take that sudden decision ? 

It could not have been a question of Corruption of the Mahinda Rajapakse and his government because if it were that  he could have quit the government long before, but why now to put   his weight besides an unknown,  untried, weak politician, without any strength of character; leaving a charismatic, strong , patriotic leader, capable of taking firm political decision knowing very well which way to take the country forward, veering away from  political obstacles  put on his path by strong  reactionary forces ?

Is he so strongly determined to highlight corruption of the former President and his government, because he has himself something to hide, therefore projecting a  pretended visage of  an  honest man fighting against dishonesty ? 

If so what is the skeleton Champika is hiding in his proverbial cupboard ?

On 11^th February;2015,  Daily Mirror Reported, “…. Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka today vowed to publish a blacklist exposing all the VIPs and higher-ups who have allegedly amassed billions of rupees and dollars of ill-gotten lucre and other assets during the tenure of the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime. He had said  “I have credible information about their bank accounts, the amount of filthy lucre and their sources. I expect to expose all of them with their names shortly,”  adding that, “ taking legal action against them would not be a difficult task because the list would contain the necessary hard evidence.”

Apparently it is not the first time Champika makes such allegations  earlier  on 1 September, 2014 he said he looks forward to expose the fuel mafia, and then he was to expose  corruption in the CEB. 

He had said that he had in fact published a book in which he had included all cases of corruption in the CEB.   Then later, when  the  Minister Wanniaratchi exposed a fraudulent  substandard coal deal during the period the Ministry was in charge of Champika. 

He then said that he knew about it, though he did not include that in his book of corruption in the CEB.  He said that he had made a complaint to the CID, but he was ousted from the Ministry before he received the report.  However, the CID had said later  that no such complaint had been received.  That does not leave Champika entirely free of his responsibility for at least  the  fraudulent substandard coal deal.

Does that and his removal from the Power and Energy Ministry have something to do with is u-turn to support Maitripala Sirisena ?  

If not what is the reason for  his deep seated vengeance against the President Mahinda Rajapakse ?   Could it be that he nurtured a secret desire to take his place ?

The Daily Mirror further reported, “Commenting on the corruption and mismanagement under the Rajapaksa regime at the Lanka Electricity Company Ltd. (LECO), the minister said when institutions of law and justice and law like the judiciary and the Attorney General’s Department work hand in glove with protect corrupt politicians and officials, the prevention of corruption was extremely difficult.” 

Champika was the Minister in Charge of  Power and Energy , therefore can he wash his hands from his own responsibility as the Minister in  Charge of the Ministry  for corruption and mismanagement at the Lank  Electricity Company Ltd.(LECO) by putting it under Rajapakse Regime ?

There is some thing fishy about it ? 

Champika you do not seem to be that clean as you pretend to be.

It was on the 11 February, 2015, that Patali Champika Ranawaka vowed to publish the blacklist  exposing all the VIPs and higher-ups who have allegedly amassed billions of rupees and dollars of ill-gotten lucre and other assets during the tenure of the Mahinda Rajapaksa regim ?    It is overdue.  People are awaiting, stop the bluff and come out  clean.

It is recently  that I happened to come across the video where Professor Nalin de Silava, who had known Patali Champika Ranawaka from his student days exposed what Champika had been  and  the reason why he is with people we thought were completely outside his professed political principles as the Secretary of the JHU. 

But from what we gather from what he had been,  as Professor Nalin de Silva  who knew him before 1987, that is  well before he became the Secretary of JHU, we can now understand that he is  after all with like minded people now and that his patriotism and his pontifications about corruption and filthy lucre and their sources are also bogus pretensions to cover his search for his personal political power, caring less for the well being of Sri Lanka . 

Patali Champika  had been  jumping from, ‘ one political pillar to another political post’, in search of political power  to  some day assume the leadership of  a political party.

In this he says that Ravaya has credited Champika  with the Jathika Chinthanaya, which he never was and Ravaya has no right to credit Champika as the initiator of Jathika Chinthanaya.  Champika had never been  a patriotic nationalist. 

Though Champika has joined hands now with Ranil Wickramasinghe, it was Champika who had taken the students on to the road to manifest against Ranil’s white paper.

In Horana Champika was the JVP student organiser. He was a JVP activist when he joined the Moratuwa University. He was expecting right along to be the leader of the JVP.  He left when he knew JVP will never have him as its leader.

 He refused to be a patriotic nationalist saying that Nationalism is a dead carcass which he does not want to carry. 

When he left JVP he  joined Mangala Samaraweera  to form the Ratavesi Peramuna, and worked for Mangala Samaraweera in 1994.

Then along with Mangala Samaweera he joined Chandrika Kumaratunga  and supported her  infamous package to the terrorists.  Champika  who along with Ratana  thera claims to have worked to defeat the terrorists seems to be a another false boast.

Nalin de Silva says  Champika carried out a poster campaign against war-against terrorists .  He jumped from being a Marxist to become a Nationalist, and even supported Tamil racism.

Nalin de Silva says that Champika would ride on the shoulder of any one to realise his dream of taking over power,  and finally joined JHU having chased S.L.Gunasekara. 

Then Champika  was for a time with the President  Mahinda Rajapakse. Now he has joined with Maithripala, Ranil and Chandrika to condemn Mahinda Rajapakse.  He does not  even give credit to the President Mahinda Rajapakse for the elimination of terrorism and the tremendous development he undertook completing 72 percent of the total projects under taken by the for mer President  Mahinda Rajapakse as shown in the  report Develoùment Performance 2014  (http://www.pmm.gov.lk/resources/Development_Performance_2014.pdf

Champika is a great fraud.  His past should also be investigated for  corruption.

President Maitripala Sirisena who contravened the Constitution of Sri Lanka thrice confiscated his right for honour and respect of the people.

Maitriplala Sirisena’s first act,  as the President was swearing in a Prime Minister overlooking the Prime Minister D.M.Jayaratne already in place, which is  in breach of the  Constitution of Sri Lanka,  undemocratic and inconsistent with his office as the President elected by the people,  therefore  ultra vires .

It is not  whether Maitripala Sirisena honours his pre election agreements  with Ranil Wickramasinghe, Chandrika Kumaratunge, Madoluwave Sobhita, JHU,TNA and SLMC, that counts when he is elected the President of Sri Lanka,  but whether he accepts to uphold the Constitution of Sri Lanka , honour it and respect it, and acknowledge his loyalty to the people at large which  is sine qua non, and above keeping his pre-election agreements which would in any way affect his office as the President of Sri Lanka and service to the people. 

With his swearing in as the President of Sri Lanka all personal  agreements he had entered into previously vis à vis his election as the President, become null and void. More so,  as the peoples’ vote to  elect him to that high office is with the condition that his  personal agreements do not  in any way affect his   loyalty and the service  to the people, and   in breach of the Constitution of Sri Lanka under which he was sworn in.

Ranil Wickramasinghe who he appointed  as the Prime Minister  in contravention of the Constitution of Sri Lanka, is an usurper of the rightful place of the Prime Minister D.M.Jayaratne. Therefore  Ranil Wickramasinghe’s appointment as the Pfrime Minister is illegal,  Hence,  the Ministers appointed by the usurper Ranil Wickramasinghe  are holding those Ministerial positions illegally, therefore  ultra  vires.

These Ministers of the Illegal government of an usurper Prime Minster have  instead of performing Ministerial services to the people , are going  out side their duties as Ministers to accuse the previous government for bribery and corruption., and doing their best to accuse the former President and his close collaborators  for  imagined and baseless allegations with a view to take them to court and take away their civic rights or allow the international community to accuse them for war crimes.

They are breaking up families with the most cruel, arrogant  and unsavoury members of the JVP such as Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and Vijitha Herath, and of the JHU Champika Ranawaka and Nishantha Sri Wanasinghe   employed as President Maithripala Sirisena’s  crime investigators.

All these activities are illegal and the President allowing such actions to be carried out by this government which has no legal standing , is aiding and abetting grievous errors to be committed against people respect by the people of the country by false accusations, personal defamations on unsubstantiated  hearsay evidence., and character assassination which the worst of  crime as it is done to bring down a popular  political personality  from the  estimation of the people and make him unpopular.

The people of Sri Lanka on the 8^th January, 2015 voted  to elect a President and not elect Ranil Wickramasinghe as the Prime Minister or have a  UNP government in place of the government of the UPFA which had a majority in the Parliament.  Above all, the people did not elect a new President to accuse the former for bribery and corruption, and all Crimes imagined possible to have been committed.

The President may visit India, China or USA and received with great  honour, but what is more important is that the President is honoured and respected in his own country and by his own people, which  however  is not  so evident. 

The 58 per cent of the Sinhala Buddhists are being neglected and the people of the country, except those Tamils in the North and the Muslims in the  East, did not expect a government under Ranil Wickramasinghe  which is vindictive, arrogant, and revengeful toward the former President Mahinda Rajapakse very much loved and respected by the majority of the Sinhala Buddhist  and perhaps by a handful of Tamils. 

The majority of the  people detest the racist Muslim Assad Sally  and the Tamils of the TNA.  The Sinhala Buddhists  dislike Chandrika Kumaratunga , Champika Ranawaka, Madoluwawe Sobita and Athureliye Ratana, and the JVP band of  investigators of corruption for Ranil’s pseudo government.

The people of Sri Lanka except the Tamils and Muslims when they voted to elect Maitripala Sirisena for a change did not expect to have along with Maithripala Sirisena a set of uncouth  vindictive pseudo Ministers making allegations against their beloved  President Mahinda Rajapakse who lost  by less than 4 lakhs of votes. 

On the 8 the January the people did not vote to elect Maitripala Sirisena to have a pseudo Prime Minister with pseudo Ministers  doing what the people do not want them to do.  They can do what they are doing now when they win an election and form a UNP Government ,and not now when there is already a UPFA government, and the Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe and his pseudo Ministers  are  a Constitutional nonentity..

The Pseudo Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera  has taken the Centre stage and what he is doing is perhaps kept a secret even from the President Maitripala Sirisena. Mangala is a sworn enemy of  the former President Mahinda Rajapakse and every thing he does may be detrimental  to the wishes of the people, covertly aiming to eliminate  Mahinda Rajapakse from Sri Lankan political scene, making the stage clear for UNP to settle down permanently in power. 

Of course USA with its most unholy, undemocratic government in the World today, which will never help a developing country to progress  independently towards development and prosperity, has seen  with obvious satisfaction the regime change in Sri Lanka for which they  may have secretly contributed.

USA will therefore  accede to the demands made by the Yahapalanaya Government of Maitripala Sirisena through Mangala Samaraweera, with the ulterior motive of taking revenge from President Mahinda Rajapakse who did not bow his head to the USA and the West. 

The former USA Secretary of State Hillary Clinton breaking diplomatic etiquettes visited the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha ( who was in jail for corrfuption), but never came to Sri Lanka. The terrorist friendly American Ambassador for Sri Lanka Robert O’Black may have discouraged such a visit to Sri Lanka.  Now the path is clear and the USA State Secretary John Kerry finds Sri Lanka more civilized with a west friendly puppet government  in place, and has therefore agreed to visit Sri Lanka.

In the meantime Ranil Wickramasinghe insults China delaying taking decisions on Chinese projects, re-examining, and  re-evaluating them.  Sri Lanka has already been accepted into the USA-West orbit.

Ravi Karunanayake -the Finance Minister’s much touted Yahapalanaya Budget did not give the expected relief for the people, and many commodities on which prices have been slashed are those utilised more by the Tamils. The price of rice is on the increase. The promised salary increases have not been received by the public servants and the private sector has been overlooked.

Ravi Karunanayake, who has forgotten his past Cooperative Wholesale  episodes is now more keen on  character assassination, defamation and making continuous false accusations against former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajappakse.  It was reported that,  “ ….Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake said that former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa cannot be given equal treatment during CID interrogation because he is now an ordinary citizen and not a VIP anymore.Therefore, he was nonplussed to see the CID visiting Gotabhaya Rajapaksa's residence to question him,……”

What can you expect  from  this Christgian Tamil  Ravi Karunanayake who during the military offensive against the LTTE terrorists ridiculed the Sri Lanka Armed Forces ? 
He little knows that Gotabhaya Rajapakse will always remain a VIP in the hearts of the patriots of  Sri Lanka, while they will be hated for generations to come for what they are doing as just 100 day pseudo Ministers..

In the mean time it has been reported that , “…….the  Sri Lanka's Supreme Court taking up a fundamental rights petition filed against the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has issued notice on him to appear in court on March 31.

A three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice K Sripavan and Justices Priyasath Dep and Eva Wanasundera issued the order after having considered a fundamental rights petition filed by Duminda Nagamuwa, the candidate nominated by the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) for the January 8, 2015 presidential election…..”

This is how  the Maithripala Sirisena’s Yayapalana is now attempting to vilify, defame, and heap allegations against a much loved former President Mahinda Rajapakse. It is like a dog barking at the moon.

Is this what the voters expected of Maithripala Sirisena when they cast their votes to elect him as the President of Sri Lanka ? 

It may have been the intension of the Tamils and Muslims  who voted for him but there was a 58 percent Sinhala Buddhist voters  who did not vote for him and they vehemently oppose all attempts  at making false allegations, mudslinging and  character assassination of the former President Mahinda Rajapakse  who has not fallen from the respect, esteem and affection they have for him.
I have been told that many begin to say that they will not vote for the SLFP if they do not take  the former President Mahinda Rajapakse as their Prime Minister candidate.

All actions taken so far by the illegal government of Ranil Wickramasinghe, elected the Prime Minister in breach of the Constitution of Sri Lanka are illegal.  Therefore it is time the  President Maitripala Sirisena takes stock of the situation and demand his Prime Minister  to stop all actions that are being taken against the previous government and go ahead with some constructive work beneficial to the country and the people..

The President Maitripala Sirisena had contravened the Constitution of Sri Lanka in taking legislative powers into his own hand and re appointing an already impeached Chief Justice, and declaring the  appointment of Chief Justice Mohan Pieris null and void, and appointing  a new Chief Justice.

The President Maitripala Sirisena  following the instructions of Ranil Wickramasinghe, Chandrika Kumaratunga, Champika Ranawaka  has given into the TNA removing check points, allowing any one to enter into the North, giving 1000 acres of land around Palali Airport for the settlement of Tamils, appointed a civilian governor  and promised reduction of armed forces. He has still not made a statement on Chief Minister Wigneswaran’s resolution on genocide.

President Maitripala Sirisena has also favoured the Tamils respecting his pre-election agreement with the TNA.  He has appointed a Tamil a citizen of Singapore as the Governor of the Central Bank, He  has appointed a Tamil as the Chief Justice (second CJ as CJ Mohan Pieris has still not been  removed in terms of the Constitution),  He also took his presidential oath before a Tamil Jude of the Supreme court. 

Was all that to spite the 58 per cent Sinhala Buddhists who did not vote for him, thus sealing his affiliation to Tamils ?

President Maithripala Sirisena can put things right if he were to meet the former President and invite him to accept to be the Prime Minister Candidate of the SLFP.  He would thus be able to do a magnificent job of work as the President of Sri Lanka with Mahinda Rajapakse as the Prime Minister and Gotabhaya Rajapakse as the Defence Secretary and go down history for his services to the country and the people..

A heart to heart talk with President Maitripala Sirisena,

You have said you do not like honorific  references and would  like to be called the President.

Well I being much older to you, and taking advantage of your preference for non honorific address I have taken the privilege to  address you as Maitripala  without any disrespect to you.

You may be a good man but I personally do not like the way you jumped the queue to obey the call of a set of failed politicians  to sacrifice forty seven years of  your dedicated attachment to Sri Lanka Freedom Party, to become their common Presidential candidate.  Of course it would have been a very tempting proposition, but  good people make greater sacrifices  to  keep their principles. 

Even from a Buddhist point of view what you did is not acceptable.  However, now you are the President I congratulate you, even though your victory is a victory gained by the votes of Tamils and Muslims. I have nothing against it, but unfortunately their votes come with conditions like those of American and IMF Aid.  That means Maitripala  with the trio Ranil, Chandrika, Champika  and the NAC you are not a free man-a  President free to do what you think is best for the country.  You are a prisoner of the agreements you have signed and what those Tamils and Muslims who with their conditional votes expect of you.

You know Maithripala, Mahinda was a visionary leader.  He is a born patriot.  He was not ambitious for himself but he was ambitious for the country.  He knew which way to lead the country.  The USA and the West Maitripala  are not our friends.  They are our friends to the extent to which we are ready to extend  them the  rights  over our strategic position in the Indian Ocean.

But the West will never be friend to the extent  to come to our help when we are in need of them if that would compromise their  relationship with other countries. It happened in 1978 when India trespassed into our airspace to drop dry rations to terrorists under siege by the Sri Lanka Armed Forces.  America did not intervene and  the result was the 13 the Amendment to our constitution and the occupation of the north by the Indian Peace Keeping Forces. 

Therefore do not have illusions about the USA and the West.  Ranil will mislead you to believe that we should depend on the USA and the West rather than China and Russia. Ranil is looking at the problem from the UNP s’capitalist point of view, which you have been opposed to for the last 47 years as a member of the SLFP.

Maitripala you said when taking over the leadership of the SLFP, that you also owe a gratitude for the UNP for having made you win at the Presidential election.  You are  now the  President and as such you haven’t got to show gratitude to UNP .  It is the UNP that will have to show their gratitude to you.

Because UNP was a party in disarray without any hope of an election victory, rejected 29 times by the people, and today due to your  foolishness they have formed a government with the only objective of bringing allegations of corruption against Mahinda , his family and  persons closely or distantly connected to him, so that the most popular political leader who was a stumbling block  against their wining at an election  one day to form a government of their own.  

Foolishness I said because Ranil, Chandrika  and Champika  made of you a pawn to have their own way praising you and paying you excessive respect trying to make of you a gullible fool. 

Champika wrote your election manifesto, in that manifesto how much of  it is your own political philosophy.  Why did you allow Ranil to take Mangala Samaraweera in to his cabinet ?   He is a man with so much of hatred towards  Mahinda.  He will do everything opposed to what Mahinda the great visionary leader did to bring Sri Lanka forward in a formidable path of progress. You who had  through out your political life opposed the UNP, are today  doing only what they want you to do.

Maitripala, you know you did wrong  entering into a secret pact with Chandrika, Ranil , Rajitha and Champika  behind the back of the SLFP and its leader Mahinda.  But you are making that worse by conniving with the UNP to force allegations against Mahainda , his brother and family.   You should at least now try to be a good president not vindictive but honest , compassionate and righteous.  But your recent  pronouncements make you a distasteful person, and the people who voted for you- that is those Sinhala Buddhists are already getting disillusioned.

If you allow Ranil and his UNP Ministers have their way , Sri Lanka will plunge into unretrievable chaos.  Already you see signs of it.  Please open your eyes Maitripala and see for your self what the TNA is doing in the North. See the Muslim Ministers who are already starting Muslim settlements.  Have a good look at  the budget presented by Ravi Karunanayake .  It is a farce  to make people lull into a sense of satisfaction while Sri Lanka is slowly turning  away from its real friends, from progress to regression falling into the hands of  reactionary forces.

From the beginning you made mistakes blindly following  the plan presented to you by Chandrika, Ranil, and Champika.  The first error was your  announcement that you were going to make Ranil the Prime Minister.  That was against the Constitution.  Further more when you were elected on the 9th January, there was already  a Prime Minister, Prime Minister D.M.Jayaratne and his Cabinet of Ministers.

If you did not want to work with the Prime Minister D.M.jayaratne and his Cabinet the best thing you could have done respecting the Constitution  was to dissolve the Parliament and call for general elections.  Instead the trio from the hades_ Ranil, Chandrika and Champika presented you with a 100 day programme.  You blindly accepted without asking a question and did every thing against the Constitution, and against democracy.

Have you reflected  on what you had been doing since 9^th January,2015 ? 

You are not with friends Maitripala .  They will be friends to day; but  you will not know what they will be tomorrow.  Mangala Samaraweera was a one time friend of Mahinda  and so was Champika but they are his sworn enemies today.  Maitripala to what extent can you count on them.

Nimal Siripala de Silava believes that he will be the Prime Minister after the April elections, but I am sure there is already a plan to make Ranil the Prime Minister even if the UNP is defeated at the election.  Ranil is already saying that he wants the whole Parliament to be his government. 

You too speak of a national government after the election.  All that is according to a plan and if  the SLFP were to win with a majority, in the National Government you propose you will appoint Ranil as the Prime Minister.  You have already breached the Constitution twice and taken undemocratic decision. First to appoint Ranil as the Prime Mi,nister when there is already Prime Minister D.M.Jayaratne in place, and secondly when you re-instated the impeached Chief Justice, and sacked the Chief Justice Mohan Pieris. 

In reality Maitripala we have  two Prime Ministers –Ranil who does not exist as a Prime Minister in terms of the Constitution and appointed undemocratically as such by you, and  the other  who exists under the Constitution and appointed democratically. It is the same with the Chief Justice one who has not been impeached and still remains the Chief Justice, and the  other appointed by you.

What a mess Maitripala ?  When are you going to take stock of the situation and speak up and say no to Ranil, Chandrika and Champika and disband the unconstitutional NAC ?

You have to do that before things get worse..  Now that you have been accepted back into the fold of the SLFP you should form a SLFP Government, and follow Mahinda Chintanaya. It is the best way out for Sri Lanka. You should appoint Mahinda as your Prime Minister.  I am sure Mahinda  did not humiliate you in the Presence of the representatives of the CTC.  Mahinda always had a plan behind what ever he did and I am sure he was not  humiliating you as you pretended he did.

Mahinda saw through the hypocrisy of USA and the West and was able to stand up to them and say no when necessary.  Mitripala we had been subjugated by the Westas an ancient colony.  We had to struggle to free ourselves from the subjugation of the West.   They were never our friends.   Our friends are the Nations of Asia, Middle East and Africa.  China is one of our great friends , so are Japan,  Russia, Vietnam, and Burma etc., Therefore Maitripala we have to remain in our Asian  orbit. USA thinks it can always dictate terms to us despite the fact that USA remains the country responsible for more war crimes and violation of human rights of other nations.  Therefore, we have to keep our distance from them without breaking away completely from them.

India cannot be counted as our best friend despite her being our next door neighbour.  India has her own agenda .  We should not let India  interfere into our internal affairs.  Implementing or discarding the 13 Amendment is our business and we should not allow India to have a say in it.

Maitripala, please ask yourself why all these people Chandeika, Ranil and Champika want you to give up  executive powers you have.  You should make a reappraisal of the situation and judge for yourself whether its advisable that you give up your executive powers as long as the problems with the Tamils have not been solved.

Once you have given up your executive powers, they- Ranil, Chandrika, Champika and the NAC will be the masters.  On top of that if they pass the 19 Amendment, they can even bring a motion of no confidence against you and remove you with a two third majority vote.  What a pathetic situation that would be ?  They are quite capable of doing that as they are taking orders from USA and the West.

Maitripala, have you asked yourself why Mangala went to USA and met  the Secretary of State and other Officials and then met Ban ki Moon of the UN to request that the Special report on War crimes in Sri Lanka should not be presented on the 25^th March this year as scheduled but later in August ?  Do they tell you every thing or do they do things behind your back keeping you ignorant of what is going on behind the scene. ?  Do not forget that it is UNP against the SLFP in the new set up.

             

Maitripala,  some thing that is evident under yahapalanaya you have  initiated  has benefited the Tamils; even the Budget of the UNP Minister  is a budget to make life easier for the Tamils.  The Tamils in the North have been given mores facilities and every body can now go to the North.  Even Mcrae of the UKChannel 4is in North of Sri Lanka.  Former terrorists who escaped to Europe can now come  and even organise  former terrorist groups.  Omanthai check point has been removed. Chief  Minister has moved a resolution calling for investigation of genocide against Tamils since independence.  Muslims are also organising themselves  soon they may claim the East of Sri Lanka for themselves.

Christian Ministers of  Ranil are raiding even Buddhist Meditation Centres. Sinhala Buddhists are being discriminated   and their concerns come after those of Tamils and Muslims.  Maitripala you are a Sinhala Buddhist, don’t you think that you should pay more attention to them-the Sinhala Buddhists ? 

Your friend Champika is trying to split Buddhists vote they say by JHU contesting at the coming elections on its own.

Sajith Premadasa was speaking about a marriage between you and Ranil, he said,  Premier Ranil Wickremesinghe’s UNP and President Maithripala Sirisena’s SLFP had entered into an unbreakable marriage. "We have no intention of divorcing." Of course Maitripala the UNP would not like a divorce , because this is the only chance  they have to be in a government as Ministers.

They do not see or pretend to see that the Ranil Wickramasinghe’s government is illegal  not being Constitutional.  Ranil does not command the confidence of the majority in  the Parliament.  The legal,  therefore the Constitutional Government is that of the SLFP  Prime Minister D.M.Jayaratne.  If they decide to go to courts and if the judges are not influenced by you and Ranil, the Courts may declare Ranil’s premiership and his cabinet of Ministers are null and void.

You see Maitripala the situation is precarious, with your talk about a unitary government and Ranil’s declared wish that he wants the whole Parliament to be a one whole government.  There is the intention for him to continue to be the Prime Minister of this united government without an opposition. And Nimal Siripala de Silva too  hopes to be the Prime Minister  after the April elections. It will be a great disappointment for him if Ranil continues to be the Prime Minister.  

Nimal Siripala has so much of hope of being elected by you as the Prime Minister  after the April elections if the SLFP wins,  to the extent that  he seems to oppose the idea of some political parties of the UPFA proposing to bring in Mahinda as the next Prime Minister.

I wander what you really think of that latter situation.

Maitripala I did not like what you said in Polonnaruw about what would have happened to you if you had lost at the election.  You said you would have ended up in a grave somewhere, and they had plans for your children as well. That was really mean of you to have said that.  Because you know having been with Mahinda for such a long time that he is not a vindictive person,  as much as he is not corrupt.  Ravi Karunanayake and Mangala Samaraweera are making it their lives ambition to prove that Mahinda is corrupt , but they have failed to do so so far, and they will not succeed because Mahinda is not corrupt, as much as Gotabhaya.

I think I will end this conversation for now.  I have told you some home truths and it is for you to think over all that and change your attitude towards Mahinda. It is a quality of a good leader to know his friends.  You may think that you owe them  gratitude , but for them you were the means to have got what they would have never got in  an election.

Maitripala you may have heard about that story about the snake which wanted to meditate.  He went to a meditation teacher and asked him how to meditate.  The teacher said go to a quiet place where you will not be disturbed and lie quietly.  The snake did like wise.  In the meantime there was a woman collecting  firewood  around  the place where the snake had decided to stretch himself and meditate. 

The woman after having collected firewood was looking for some thing with which to tie the bundle of firewood.  Looking around she saw what she thought was a long bark, and picking it up she tied the bundle of firewood and took it home .Having arrived at home she untied the bark and threw it away and took the firewood inside.  The bark with which the woman had tied the bundle of firewood was unfortunately the meditating snake. The poor snake was bruised and twisted and in great pain.  He dragged himself painfully to see the  meditation teacher.  When the teacher heard the story he was very sorry and told the Snake that he should have raised his head and shooed to show that he was a snake.

Therefore Maitripala with all this talk about removing the executive powers of the President and proposals by the JVP; JHU , UNP to curtail  your executive powers, it is time you raise your head and show of what metal you are made, and keep your executive powers by all means and take the reins of governance into your own hands. 

It is enough with the witch hunt?  Get your Ministers to stop talking  and stop the ignoble hunt for instances of corruption  and start to do some beneficial work and stop terrorism from raising its head again, and above all stop the TNA and the Tamil Politicians of the north  begin their dastardly work  of separatism.

Witch-hunt is not yet over as UNP has to eliminate rivals and take away their Civic Rights before the next election.

The Stage has been set to culminate in a grand finale,  the false allegations of corruption, criminal intentions, an election night plan for a military take over and stealing gold from  the reserves in the Treasury and so on and so forth. 

The 100 day UNP Government has begun by taking over to their side  the law and Justice, by appointing their own Chief Justice, appointing their own Director General of the Commission of Bribery and Corruption Wasanthi Manchanayake, taking over  the police , taking over  the BASL on to their side by making its President Upul Jauyasuriya the Chairman of the Investment  Committee, and taking over the academicians with the Professor  Dewasiri of FUTA the spokes person  for the National Movement for Social Justice at the helm.

So what stops them from doing  what they want to do? 

There is more to come to net the rogues, thieves, criminals and the rest of the miscreants of the previous government.

The man hunt is on.

To make it more convenient the President Maitripala Sirisena exasperated that despite all the accusations and allegation no one has so far been arrested has threatened to appoint a Special  Presidential Committee of Investigation

The objectives are very clear. The UNP, JHU and JVP have to clip the wings of their rivals so that the field would be clear for them to vanquish the opposition to take over  political power.

The UNP is at a disadvantage as the President  has taken over the leadership of the SLFP and left UNP to go to election on its own with Ranil WIckramasinghe as the leader  which would be a sure defeat-the 30^th at an election.

The former President Mahinda Rajapakse is still alive and kicking, more than ever before in the minds of the Sinhala Buddhists . That puts UNP at a greater disadvantage . Hence the UNP has to do some thing dramatic to  win the elections. 

What  a great chance UNP would have in  winning   the general elections if it removes Mahinda Rajapakse from being present  any where near the political field during elections simply  by removing his political rights ?. 

UNP has failed 29 times to gaine a single election victory.  JHU on its own will get a few seats.  Even that is doubtful .  One wondes  whether even Champika would be able to  keep his seat  as the trio  Champika,Nishantha and Ven.Omalpe have become too aggressive for the liking of the ordinary man.  JHU will not be a decision maker in an election, and JVP is a party that would be left out by the majority of the people, as JVP under Anura Kumara Dissanayake reminds the people more  of the period of  JVP terror. 

Both JHU with Champika and JVP with Anura Kumara Dissanayake  are already disliked by the people from  conversations that are beginning to be heard now.

Ravi Karunanayake has failed to come  even near to receive the approbation of the   people in the villages,  and  in urban areas outside Colombo.  Even in Colombo there are those who begin to get tired to hear of this constant witch hunt to inculpate the former President , his former cabinet Ministers and his Defence Secretary and people connected to him. Because the masses still love the Rajapakses, and regret their unexpected departure from the political scene.

The President Maitripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickramasinghe have put a thief to catch a thief as the saying goes and are sure that Ravi Karunanayake will come up with a credible accusation against the former President Mahunda Rajapakse, and Gotabhaya Rajapakse.

It is a psychologic  reaction which   UNP has failed to understand that  they of the UNP will be hated when they over do accusing of a person who the people have accepted as their national hero to whom they owe a gratitude  for having delivered them from the greatest menace of terrorism under which they lived in constant fear of  death to themselves or to others  close to them.

I have heard a three wheeler who had been a soldier  who fought under Sarath Fonseka say that it is a mistake, not to have elected President Mahinda Rajapakse. He asked with vehemence can you hide from the people the great work he has accomplished, and  all his achievements  which will remain for ever monuments to prove what a colossus that man had been even if  this 100 day government heaps on him all the corruptions, malpractices or corruptions. 

He said that Sarath Fonseka as the Commander was very good .  He described how he planned the strategies with plans  for groups of  soldiers to  march into terrorist areas.  But he said he is definitely not suitable to be a  politician, and that he would have been much respected out side politics, as a retired hero who helped to end terrorism..

There was one that argued  that speaking about change of regime in Sri Lanka and the need of the West to retain its leadership in the world  and  check mate China’s and Russia’s influence in the Indian Ocean are not matters that interest the ordinary people.  He said that the fear of the West that the formidable economic advancement of Sri Lanka would be  followed by the rest of the developing countries would be a great threat to USA and the West, is not the concern of the ordinary people.  

He says  what the people are interested in is  to  buy milk to feed their child,  and have consumable commodities at affordable prices. It is where he says that the President Mahinda Rajapakse failed and faced the inevitable consequences.

The UNP and the President Maitripala Sirisena would not confine  their witch hunt against the President Mahinda Rajapakse, because there are other important persons who have to be put in the same cell along with the former President Mahinda Rajapakse, if they are to be assured of a win at the election.

Tissa Attanayake the former General Secretary of the UNP is also an important man, now a dangerous stumbling block for a UNP walkover at a general election. Tissa Attanayake had  been quite  frank throughout after his cross over stating that he is a member of the UNP and shall always remains an ardent member of his party.  But he says  that he crossed over because he did not like UNP becoming a secondary political party having to ask its members to vote to elect some one out side UNP and select not their traditional symbol of elephant but  a swan.

Tissa Attanayake has not completely lost his popularity amoung the ordinary members of the UNP.   He is a danger for the UNP in the forthcoming elections. Therefore the UNP leadership is all out to see that the same fate earmarked for the President Mahinda Rajapakse falls on him as well .  Therefore, while he was given bail, is now to be arrested on another charge:

“ Former UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake will be charged by police on attempt of causing racial unrest under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights Act of 2007.
……………. the document allegedly forged by the MP claiming to be a secret agreement between the Tamil National Alliance and the then common presidential candidate, President Maithripala Sirisena would have caused racial disharmony. "In the document there are statements regarding the removal of military camps from the North and an agreement to implement the UNHRC proposals", and these statements could have caused conflicts among groups of people.”

Police are investigating if the MP had intended to cause such issues,"  said the Police Spokesman..

President Maithripala Sirisena now the Leader of the SLFP with a great debt he thinks he owes to UNP for having made him the President of Sri Lanka,  had heard that the Political parties allied to SLFP in the UPFA are proposing to field  the former President Mahinda Rajapakse as their Prime Minister Candidate  at the next elections. 

Therefore Maitripala Sirisena  fears the consequences of his victory  and proposes a National Government without an opposition , while preparing probably  to stop that possibility of Mahinda Rajapakse contesting under UPFA, by arresting him after investigation of allegations against him by a Special  investigations  Committee of the President, and to get a kangaroo court to remove his civic rights.

President Maitripala Sirisena  was perhaps seeking  sympathy of the Nurses in Maharagam when he spoke of how he was humiliated by the former President Mahinda Rajapakse in the presence of the CTC representatives, but that may be the psychological back ground in which he seeks that allegations against the former President be proceeded with before the end of 100 days. 

In the meantime CTC  has strongly contradicted Minister Dr. Senaratne’s allegation that massive bribes had been paid to the previous government to thwart Maithripala Sirisena’s anti-tobacco campaign.

                                                                                                                       
The atmosphere in every sector of administration in Sri Lanka is gloomy The Chairperson of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof. Kshanika Hirimburegama has tendered her resignation to President Maithripala Sirisena through the Minister of Higher Education.  She was appointed by the former President. She was the country’s first woman appointed as the Chairman of the UGC.

 It is a coincidence that the first woman Chief Justice  impeached under the former President  was reinstated by the Maitripal Sirisena regime and the  first woman Chairperson of UGC appointed by the former President was made to resign under the Maitripala Sirisena Regime.

The UNP Minister of Finance does not take no for an answer when there is no corruption he insists there is corruption. “

“Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake yesterday said that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has spent public funds lavishly and he had ample evidence to prove how he had done so.

It is amusing if somebody says that former President has not been allocated a budget of a staggering Rs. 10,000 million. Karunanayake queried as to why such a colossal amount of money has been required by the former President.” 

Ravi Karunanayake cannot, understand.  He must still be believing that the army went to Medawchchi when it really went to Kilinochchi.

He accused Gotabhaya Rajapakse having a personal account of 8 billion rupees in the BoC, and when it was refuted by the new Secretary of Defence , he continued with his allegation pointing out the irregularity of having an account in the Defence Secretariat.

He follows Goebel’s tactic of go on repeating a lie until it sounds true, probably on the instructions of his Masters from the West.

In the mean time there are other moves to take revenge  and  put miscreants of the previous government in  prison. Minister  Kiriella had  said the government decided to establish a Financial Crimes Investigation Division under the supervision of the police chief "to investigate into large scale financial transactions including money laundering activities."   

That means Ravi Karunanayake may also  probably be investigated by this Financial Crimes Investigation Division.

Ranil Wickramasinghe’s 100 day cabinet is going in a big way after those who have been accused of corruption and malpractices, “ The Cabinet of Ministers had also approved a proposal by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to set up a secretariat to investigate into alleged large-scale corruption and malpractices of the previous government.”

Why only the previous government ?

If  it is going to be a Secretariat for Investigation of Corruption it should include Ministers of previous UNP Governments as well.  Otherwise it is dictatorial and anti democratic. That is no Yahapalanaya.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe seems to be shivering in his boots fearing to face an election as the leader of the  UNP.  In order to avoid that situation  he announces gleefully addressing an event at Royal College, Colombo  that  he, “ … does not want to form a United National Party (UNP) government at the next General Election and that he desires for the entire Parliament to be a government.  What we have done is to work together with all the parties. In a way this is a challenge. In a way it’s an opportunity,” “Because my hope is that after the next election, people ask me ‘are you going to form a UNP government? Are you going to form a UNP-SLFP government? Are you going to form an anti-Mahinda government?’ And my answer to all that is, no. I want the whole parliament to be a government,”. 

That would avoid his 30^th defeat at an election.

President Maitripala  Sirisena, Ranil Wickramasinghe and Champika Ranawaka have other people in view to put in  the cell along with  Mahinda Rajapakse.  There is Wimal Weerawanse  they fear,  and want to stop being heard during  the next election campaign.  They have got the police to put his wife also into the prison for using two passports with differing personal information.

What a crazy set up we have as a Government ?

There was an interesting column in the Island  News Paper-Anama Manam  written by Hemantha Warnakulasuriya, an excerpt of which is given below:

 “……Today, Maithreepala Sirisena came to power to stop corruption and central and to usher in a new epoch of good governance,which consists in the authoritarian powers vested in the executive presidency upholding the rule of law. So every single crime committed by the previous regime must be carefully investigated and if the police and the AG’s Department are of the view that there is prima facie case, the suspect should he be produced in Court. Only a competent judge can find the accused guilty I have read that suggested that Special presidential commissions be established to try these offenders. I am appalled that those who came to power, promising governance, could even think that a Special Presidential Commission would bring the culprits to book. This monster was created by J. R.Jayewardena to disfranchise Sirimavo Bandaranaike, and Chandrika Bandaranaike used her powers to have several Presidential Commissions, including investigations into the Batalanda torture chamber, the killing of Vijaya Kumaranathunga, the killing of Lalith Athulathmudali and Denzil Kobbekaduwa. As a lawyer who appeared before almost all the Commissions,I knew it was a politically motivated judicial circus its nadir, and the Supreme Court decided the evidence collected for a number of years by one of these Commissions was not sufficient even to hang a rat. I believe that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe will advise the President against the establishment of Special Presidential Commission, which would be tatamount to burying the Rule of Law and ushering in an era of ‘Yakapalanaya’, instead of ‘Yahapalanaya’.

In the mean time Mangala Samaraweera is courting USA.  USA knows what the black politicians  want for them to be ever grateful to them.  Just a tap on the back and an invitation for a cup of tea is more than enough to satisfy our Foreign Minister who is looking for Rajapaksa’s hidden treasures.
