Suren Raghavan, immediately after being appointed as the Governor of Northern Province announced  that he is against Buddhisisation of the North.

Well he is not alone, there are many more Tamil politicians still with their Dravidian instincts like that of  animals, such as the TNA MP the Christian Tamil Sumandiran, who wants to distance Tamils and Jaffna Tamils from the teachings of  the Compassionate  Buddha.

But this stupid statement coming from a Governor of a Province is not tolerable. A Governor is the representative of the President of Sri Lanka in the respective Province. He should be the uniting force that brings the people-the Communities in to the national fold. He should be a symbol of unity in the Province to bring the people  together, not to separate them.

The Governor Suren Raghavn has a Doctorate  in Federalism, that does not put him into the category of an intellectual, as much as Wignesvaran, who had spent all his professional life as a Judge dealing with thieves and criminals who have rubbed off their  evil thinking  to Wignesvaran.

Therefore these ignorant morons have no minds to think positively and constructively. They do not know what a priviledge it is to live  in the land sanctified   by the visit of the Compassionate  Buddha long before the Dravidians had even heard of Jaffna- Jaffna -the land of the Nagas.

These unfortunate Tamils are ignorant that today  learned men all over the world- academicians, scientists and psychiatrists  are awakening to the teachings of the  Buddha, and accepting the teachings and setting up temples and Buddhist Centres of Buddhist Studies in USA,  Europe and in far away Africa.

Suren Raghavan when he is planning to stop Buddhisisation of  Jaffna, a group of savage Dravidians in Mulathivu occupied the Mulathivu Nayaru Khandha Ancient Buddhist Temple on the Pongal day, threatened the resident monk Venerable Kolamba Medalankara Kiththi Nayaka thero and dug a foundatiuon for a Kovil in the Temple premises. In which century are they ? Are  there  civilised people living in the North?

It is interesting in this context to see what is happening in Portugal. A Portuguese man who is ordained  as a  Buddhist Monk Ajhan Dhammiko,  understanding the great teachings of the Buddha, considering that the Portuguese had  wronged the Sri Lankans by converting them to Christianity, has built  a Buddhist Monastery  called Sumedharama which  spreads out over 25 acres of land in Lisbon, wants to compensate Sri Lanka  for the wrongs done to the people of Sri Lanka by the Portuguese, by spreading the teachings of Buddha in Portugal.

But this uninformed ignorant Raghavan  speaks of Buddhism as a plague with which he does not want to infect his people in the North. Raghavan is also a Christian with a special devotion to Jesus , who according to some historians was in India,  and was  perhaps a disciple of the Buddha. Is Suren Raghavan a civilised man ?

It is not strange that Sri Lankan Tamil politicians have an aversion to Buddha and his teachings, as  their mental development has still not gone beyond their ancestral Dravidian instinct to understand the greatness of the teachings of the Buddha. Hence they rejects Buddhism  as a blind man kicks a jewel he steps on while walking, not knowing what it is.

Therefore Raghavan as much as other anti Buddhists Tamils amoung the TNA MPs having the same Dravidian Genes still do not know the value of the Buddha and his teachings. They prefer the blood soaked floors of Kali Temples, to a clean peaceful simplicity of a Buddhist temple.

Having primitive Dravidian genes is not a disease or an unsurmountable handicap, but the Tamil politicians thrive living with this  undeveloped mindsets and do not allow the poor Tamils to rise above these ethnic handicaps. These Tamils activists be they TNA politicians or of other political or non political groups are all the same.

Therefore, it is best that the Sinhala people who wants a true unity with the Tamil Community think even for an instance they have found hope for such a unity in  Arun of the AAWA Group, because it was evident from the interview with him carried out by the Derana TV that he is a big farce, a trickster, he is not  different from the Tamil politicians from the North or the Tamils of the diaspora..

The ordinary Tamils are beautiful people. We know many like Muralitharan, Kanthar Balanathan , and  Dr. Nadesan from Australia who are wonderful people who like to have close contact with Sinhala people and even accept and respect Buddhism. ( I have visited Jaffna where I met my friend Radha Manohar , and his family and friends who received  me with sincere affection. I do not want to hurt their sensitivity by any of what I have written against the Tamil Politicians and their ilk).

The ordinary Tamil people in the North  cannot be ruled out as anti Sinhala Buddhists. It is the Tamil politicians of the TNA who keep the ordinary Tamil people from demonstrating  their affection to the Sinhala people.

It was seen recently where the villagers of Visvamaduma in Jaffna gathered to bid farewell to Colonel Ratnapriya Bandu who was leaving the Military Camp on transfer. The people surrounded him weeping and lamenting. They garlanded him and held onto him as he was one of their beloved elder relative.  Suren Raghavan should goto Visvamaduva and ask the villagers what was the reason for them to show such warm affection to that Sinhala Military officer.

The politically motivated Tamils are ready to reproach  and accuse the Sinhala political leaders and the Afrmy, but none comes forward to speak gratefully of them, who had helped the ordinary Tamil people to live peacefully and in security having saved them from the clutches of terrorism.

It is not too late for Governor Raghavan  to learn a little about the teachings of the  Buddha if he wants  to be a suitable man to be the Governor of the Northern Province.

During the time of the Most Compassionate Buddha in India there were 62 different philosophies in the North of India . The South was where the Dravidians had been chased   by the advancing Aryans.  The Dravidians or the Tamils had more primitive religious worships and it was later that a cannibalised  form of  Hinduism came to be practiced; prominent amoung them the worship of  Goddess Kali. 

There is no mention of the Buddha Visiting South India.  Even today the Tamils,  except the Dalits,   have not accepted the teachings of the Buddha. The Tamils of Jaffna do not seem to know that the Compassionate Buddha had visited Jaffna.

They prefer their primitive religious practicesn and  insult and despise the great teachings with which they have been priviledged to live side by side. Even though the decorated Mandapas of  Hindu Temple in  North India are beautifully crafted, the Gopurams of  Hindu Kovils in South India and in Sri Lanka are ugly and frightful with large eyed, big bellied, large breasted fantasy figures of Yakshas and Yakshanis.

There were very few Buddhist in South India when Venerable Buddhaghosa was engaged to translate into Pali the commentaries to the teachings of the Buddha made in Sinhala by great Buddhist monks  and perhaps Noble Arahaths. 

That was perhaps a mistake done by Venerable Revata Maha Thero of Mahavihara. Perhaps Venerable Buddhaghosa did a good translation of those Commentaries and prepared the Visuddhimagga. But no one could  verify what he had included in it and what he had not. 

Venerable Buddhaghiosa before he became a Buddhist monk, was a South Indian Hindu who was learned in the Vedic literature, therefore there is no doubt that he had  included in Visuddhimagga his own Hindu views as for instances the 40 objects of meditation which had not been mentioned by the Buddha in his discourses such as Maha Satipatthana Sutta.

All the Commentaries  in Sinhala had been handed over to Venerable Buddhaghosa giving him a carte blanche  for their translation. Mahavihara Bikkhus had trusted him and no one had even been given to assist him. Therefore it is questionable whether Ven. Buddhagosa read and understood correctly the Sinhala commentaries.

There is no way to verify the correctness  of the Pali text of Ven. Buddhaghosa by comparing it to the original Sinhala commentaries as it is said that Venerable Buddhaghosa after writing the Visuddhimagga burnt all Sinhala commentaries that had been handed over to him, without leaving any trace of them.  That was a great act of betrayal as those original commentaries were of immense importance. 

That is how South Indian mentality worked even at that time.  Destruction of Buddhism is in the genes of the Tamils. Venerable Buddhaghosa  should have respected the ancient Sinhala Commentaries and handed them  back to Mahavihara. But he probably wanted credit for himself for what is  written in  the Visuddhimagga..

But these present day assailants of Buddhism do not understand that it is Buddhism that Identifies Sri Lanka.  Suren Raghavan says that the terrorist war was a one-sided victory. All victories are one sided and there is nothing intellectual about his pronouncement.  He calls the present situation a period of “victors justice” .

Perhaps the appointment of  Suren Raghavan was another attempt in reconciliation which has badly  misfired. It is better that a Sinhala Buddhist is appointed as the Governor of the Northern Province and remove Suren Raghavan as he is a misfit as a Governor of the Nothern Province . 

The ordinary Tamils in the North and East will certainly prefer to have a Sinhala Buddhist as their Governor as they can expect justice and a fair deal from a Sinhala Buddhist Governor. It is only the extremist Tamil politicians that would  protest against a Sinhala Buddhist as a Governor in the North or East.

සේනා දළඹු වසංගතය මේ ආණ්ඩුවෙ ගමන නතර නොකලොත් අද නීතියේ සරනවත් නැති ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට වියහැකි විනාශය පිළිබඳව අද්දෘශ්‍යමාන බලවේගයක අනතුරු හැඟවීමක්ද ?

බඩඉරිඟු වගාව විශාලවශයෙන් විනාශකර අනිකුත් වගාවනුත් අනතුරට දමමින් පැතිරීගිය සේනා දළඹු වන් නැතිකරන්නේ හෝ මර්ධනයකරන්නේ කෙසේදැයි  නොදැනුවත්ව අපේ ගොවිජනතාව  පසුගිය කාලයෙ මහත් සේ කම්පාවී සිටියෝය. ඒ උවදුර සැලකිය යුතු ප්‍රමාණයකට  හෝ අඩුවී ඇති බවක් දැනගන්නට තිබේ.

නමුත් හැම අංශයෙකින්ම  ක්‍රියාත්මක වුයෙ  මේ සේනා දළඹුවන්  මරා විනාශයකිරීම සඳහා ගතයුතු  පියවරල් සෙවීමකි . කිසිවෙක් මේ සඳහා බෞද්ධමය පිළිවෙතක් යෝජනා නොකළේය. සමහරක්විට එවැනි යෝජනාවක්  කිරීමත් මේ දියුණුවී ඇති විද්‍යා හා තාක්ෂනයුගයේ සිනහවට භාජනවීමටද හේතුවිය හැකිය. 

නමුත් අපේ ලංකාව පින්වත්  රටක් බව සමහරක් සිදුවීම් නිසා තේරුම් ගතනොහැකි බැවින් අප ඒගැන සැලකිලි  නොවන්නේමූ.  අපේ රට මුහුණු පා තුබූ අනතුරුදායක අවස්ථාවලදී අපරට බෙරගන්න හිතාගන්න නොපුළුවන් ධය්ර්යයකින් යුත් පුද්ගලයෙක් හෝ අපුරු සිදුවීමක්  හෝ හේතුවී ඒ අනතුරෙන් ගැලවෙනවා. දළඳා මාලිගාවටත් බෝම්බ ප්‍රහාරයක් එල්ලකළ අවස්ථාවේ අපි කර කියාගන්න දෙයක් නොමැතිව අසරණව සිටියා. ඊට පසුව ඇතිවූ සුනාමියෙන් මහත් විනාශයක් සිදුඋනා. ඒ කාලකන්නි කාලය අවසන් උනේ ත්‍රස්තවාදය අවසන්වී රට නව තම දියුනුවක්කරා ගෙන යාමට හැකියාවක් ඇති බෞද්ධ නායකයින්ගේ අවතීරණයෙන්.

අදත් අපේ රට එදා  සුනාමියට පෙරතුබු අසරණ කාලකන්නි කාලයකටයි ප්‍රවිෂ්ටවී සිටින්නේ.  කරකියාගන්න දෙයක් නොමැතිව නීතියේ සරණ වත්  නොමැති අවස්තාවකයි සේනා දළඹු ප්‍රවාහය ඇතිවී තිබෙන්නේ. අද්දෘශ්‍යමාන බලවේගයක  අවධානය ශ්‍රී ලංකාව අනතුරුදායක අවස්ථාවක මුහුනපාසිටින විට ඇතිවෙනබවක් ගැන කීවොත් සමහරෙක් සිනහාවෙනවා ඇති. 

වරක් පල්ලෙකැලේ භාවනා මද්‍යස්ථානයකදී අවධානය යොමුවූ දෙයක් නිසා  ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ආරක්ෂාවට අදෘශ්‍යමාන බලවේග පවතින බවහිතාගන්නට හැකියාවක් මේ ලියන මට ඇතිඋනා.  එබැවින් මේ කොයිබට යන්නේදැයි  නොදැන යන රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ අගමැතිතුමාගේ ආණ්ඩුවෙ ගමන නතර නොකලොත් එය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ විනාශය වෙන්න පුලුවෙනි. සමහරක් විට මේ සේනා දළඹු ප්‍රවාහය සුනාමිය වැනි  අනතුරු හැඟවීමක්  විය හැකි නොවේද?

එබැවින් මේ සේනා දළඹු වසංගතයෙන් ගොඩ ඒමට ඒ සතුන් මැරීමට වඩා අපේ බුදුරජානන්වහන්සේ ජීවත්ව සිටියෙදී උන්වහන්සේ  සියලු භය දුරුකිරීමට උපයෝගීකරගත් ක්‍රමයක් යොදාගතහොත් සුදුසු නොවන්නේද ? 

වරක් අපේ බුදුපියානන්වහන්සේ රජගහනුවර වැඩ සිටියදී  වේසාලිනුවර දුගී  වැසියෝ දුර්භික්ෂයක් නිසා   මරනයට පත්වෙමින්  අසරණව සිටියෝය. මළමිනී කුණුවී දුර්ගන්ධය පැතිරුනේය. වසංගතයක් ඇතිවෙමින් මහත් උපද්‍රවයකට පත්වෙමින් සිටියෝය. වේසාලිනුවර වැසියෝ බුදුපියානන්වහන්සේගේ පිළිසරණ ඉල්ලා සිටි අවස්ථාවේ උන්වහන්සේ වේසාලි නුවරට වැඩමකළේය. උන්වහන්සේගේ වැඩීමත් සමග වේසාලි නුවර  මහා වර්ෂාවකින් සේදිගියේය. 

බුදුපියානන් වහන්සේ ආනන්ද ස්වාමීන් වහසේට රතනසුත්‍රය දේශනාකර  වේසාලි නුවර ලිච්චවී වැසියන් සමග රතන සුත්‍රය සජ්ජායනා කරමින් නගරය පුරා සැරිසරන්නට කීසේක.  ආනන්ද ස්වමීන්වහන්සේද බුදුපියාණන් කී පරිදි රතන සුත්‍ර දේශනාකළේය. ඉන් පසුව සියලු ලෙඩ දුක් රෝග භය අවසන්ව ලිච්චවී වැසියන් සතුටට පත්වූයේය.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවෙ අද පවතින  බෞද්ධාගමට  අගෞරව කරමින් ගෙනයන අධර්මිෂ්ඨදේශපාලන විනාශයෙන් රටත් ජනතාවත් බේරාගැනීමටත් ආහාර වැවිලි  ගහ කොලන් ආරක්ශාකරගැනීමටත්  ලංකාවේ  හැම ගම් නියන් ගම්වල බෞද්ධ විහාර වල එකම  දවසක  එකම  වෙලාවට  රතන සුත්‍රය ප්‍රධාන සර්ව රාත්‍රික පිරිත් සන්ගායනාවකින් පසුව  පිරිත් පැන් හැම ගමක, හැම වගාවකටම ඉසීමෙන් සමහරක්විට සේනා  දළඹු උපද්‍රවය පැතිරී යෑම  නවත්වාගන්නට පුලුවන්වේදැයි සොයාබැලීම සුදුසු පිංකමක් විය හැකිය. ඒ ඇරත් එවැන්නක් කිරීම රටේ අපල දුරුකර රටට යහපතක් සඳහාද සුදුසුය. මෙය හැමෝගේම අවධානයට ලක්වේවා.

නීතීඥයෝ කියාගන්න ඇන් ජී ඕ නඩයක් ගලගොඩ අත්තේ ඥානසාර තෙරුන්වහන්සේට ජනාධිපති සමාව දිය නොයුතුයි කියනවා.

නීතිඥයෝ කියාගන්න සල්ලිවලට රට විකුනන්න තරම් ලැජ්ජාවක් නැති  ඇන් ජී ඕ  නඩයක් ජනාධිපතිතුමාට ගලගොඩ අත්තේ  ඥානසාර තෙරුන්වහන්සේට ජනාධිපති සමාව දිය නොයුතුයි කරුණු ඉදිරිපත් කරන්න බලාපොරෝත්තු වෙනවා.  උන් අතර ලංකාවට ඔරුමිත්ත නාඩු යි නම් කරන්න යෝජනාකරන ලාල් විජේනායකත් ඉන්නවා. 

මෙන්න මේ  සිංහල ජාතියේ  හතුරෝ. ලාල් විජේනායක, කේ එස් රත්නවේල්, ජේ සී වැලි අමුණ,සුදර්ශන ගුනවර්ධන , සුදත් නෙත්තසින්හ,ප්‍රභෝධා රත්නායක, හරිස්කේ සමරනයක මුන් ප්‍රජාචන්ද්‍රවාදය සඳහා පෙනීසිටින නීතිනඥයෝ කියාගන්න සල්ලිවලට රට විකුනන්න ඇන් ජී ඕ  නඩයක්. මුන්වගේම ජනතාවට මේ විනාශකාරී රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහ ගේ ආණ්ඩුව එළවදමන්ට ලැබුණු ප්‍රජාචන්ද්‍ර අයිතිය උදුරාගත් ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණයෙ නඩුකාර හත් කට්ටලයත් ජාතියේ හතුරන් මෙන් උන්ගේ නම් ගල්වල කොටන්න ඕනේ අනාගත පරම්පරාවට දැනගන්න.

මේ නීතීඥයෝ කියාගන්න ඇන් ජී ඕ  නඩය කියනවා  ගලගොඩ අත්තේ ඥානසාර හිමියන්ට ජනාධිපති සමාව ලැබීමේ අවස්තාවක් තියෙනවා  කියන ආරංචිය  පිළිබඳව කලබල යට පත්ව මේ හාමුදුරුවන්ගේ  කලබල කාරී කලහකාරී  හැසිරීම පිළිබඳව හා ජාතිවාදී බද්ද වයිරය පිළිබඳව ත් ජාතිවාදය  හා ආගම්වාදය අවුස්සන  දීර්ග ඉතිහාසයක් තියෙන නිසා  මේ හාමුදුරුවන් එක්නැලිගොඩ  නොනාමහත්මියට උසාවියේදී කල තර්ජන පිළිබඳව උසාවියට අගවුරවකිරිම සඳහා පමණක් දඬුවමක් දීම හැරුනුකොට වෙන බලවත් නීතිමය දඬුවමක් නොදීම පිළිබඳව කණගාටුවන අතර ඔහුට සමාව දීමට විරුද්ධව ජනාධිපති තුමාට කරුණු ඉදිරිපත් කරන්නට යයි.  

මේ ජාතියේ හතුරෝ කියනවා ඥාණසාර හාමුදුරුවන්ට සමාව දීමෙන්  නීතිමය හා ව්‍යවස්තාමය ගැටළු ඇතිවෙනවාය කියා.  ඊට පස්සේ  උන්වහන්සේ ට විරුද්ධව ගෙන ඇති චෝදනා ගණනාවක් හා උන්වහන්සේගේ අපරාධකාරී ජාතිවාදී හැසිරීම හා අලුත්ගම කැරලි කෝලාහලවලට  තුබූ සම්භන්දය  සඳහන් කරනවා.   ඊළඟට කියනවා ජනාධිපති සමාවක් දීමේදී  මේ චෝදනා පරීක්ෂාකර නීතිපතිවරයාගෙන් හා නීතිය පිලිබඳ ඇමතිතුමියගෙන් රපොර්තුවක් ලබාගතයුතුබව, එසේ නැතුව මේ චුදිතයාට සමාව දීමෙන් එය ජනතාව උසාවිය කෙරෙහි ඇති  ගෞරවය නැතිවීමට හෙතුවියහැකි නරක ආදර්ශයක් වියහැකියයි සඳහන්කරනවා. එසේ සමාවක් දීම දඬුවමක් නොලැබීමේ  සංස්කෘතියක් බවට පත්වීමට හෙතු විය හැකියයි  පවසනවා.

මුන්  කියනවා බුද්ධසාසන අමාත්‍යවරයා නොයෙකුත් ප්‍රභූවරුන්ගේ ලියකියවිලි  සමග ඥාණසාර හිමියන්ට සමාව දෙනමෙන් ඉල්ලා ඇති ජනාධිපති තුමාට යැවු ලිපිය දැක පුදුමයට පත් උනබව . ඔවුන් කියනවා බුද්ධසාසන අමාත්‍යවරයාට එහෙම ලිපියක් යැවීමට කිසිම නීතිමය අයිතියක් නැතිලු.  උන් කියනවා මේක  තමන්ගේම  තර්ජනාත්මක හැසිරීම නිසා  දඬුවම් ලැබූ  සිරකරුවෙකු මුදාහැරීමට කරන ප්‍රයත්නයක් නිසා නීතිපති වරයාගේ දෙපාරත මෙන්තුවටත් අධිකරණයටත් බලවත් හානියක් නින්දාවක් වියහැකිලු.

මේ නිසා උන් ජනාධිපතිවරයාට කියාසිටිනවා මේ සිරකාරයා නිදහස්කිරීමෙන් එක්නැලිගොඩ ගේ අතුරුදහන් වීමේ නඩුවට හා වෙනත්  දේශපාලන නඩුවලට විශේෂයෙන්ම යුද හමූදාව සම්බන්ධ නඩුවලට  බලපාන බැවින් හා මෙවැනි සිරකරුවෙකුට නිදහස දීමෙන්  එය විත්ති කරුවන්ටත් දඬුවම් වලට වැරදිකරුවන්වී සිටින වුන්ටත් නීතිය පිළිබඳව කලකිරීමක් ඇතිවීමට හෙතිවිය හැකි නිසා   ඥාණසාර නමැති සිරකරුවාට විශේෂත්වයක් දක්වා ජනාධිපති සමාව දිය නොයුතුයි දන්වනවා.

ඥාණසාර  හිමියන්ට එහෙම  සමාවක් දුන්නොත් ඊට විරුද්ධව ජනාධිපති තුමාගේ බලය අනිසිලෙස යෙදවීමට විරුද්ධව හැම විධියෙන්ම කටයුතු කරන්න පෙලගැහෙනවායයි මේ නීතිනඥයෝ කියාගන්න සල්ලිවලට රට විකුනන්න තරම් ලැජ්ජාවක් නැති  ඇන් ජී ඕ  නඩය සඳහන් කරනවා.

මෙන්න අද රටේ නීතිය පවතින හැටි. ජාතියක් ආගමක් නැති සල්ලිවලට ඕනෑ විලි ලජ්ජා  දෙයක් කරන්න සුදානම් එක එකාට කත් අදින බොරුවට ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍ර වාදයගැන කතා කරන මෙවුන් තමා  අද ලංකාවේ නීතිය සදාචාරය සාමය ආරක්ශා කරනවා කියන බොරුවෙන් ජීවත්වෙන සිංහලයෝ, සුමන්දිරම්  සම්බන්ධන්, විග්නේස්වරන් මනෝ ගනේසන්  වැනි ද්‍රවිඩ හැත්ත උන්ගේ ද්‍රවිඩ ජාතිය ආරක්ෂාකරගෙන  රටත් දෙකඩකරන්න සුදානම් වෙනකොට මේ සිංහල කියාගන්න මෝඩ හැත්ත  ජාතිය ආගම  කිසිම චකිතයක් නැතිව දෙමළුන්ට පාවාදෙන්න සුදානම්.   මෙවුන්ටද රටට ව්‍යවස්ථාවක් හදන වගකීම බාරදීලා තියෙන්නේ ?

රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහගේ විනාශාකාරි  ආණ්ඩුව හා ආණ්ඩුවේ ගැත්තන් එළවා දමන්න සිංහල බෞද්ධ යෝ   දැන් දැන්ම පෙළගැසී සිටිය යුතුය.  මුන්ගේ දෙඩවිලිවලට කන්නොදී  ජනාධිපති තුමා ගලගොඩ අත්තේ  ඥානසාර තෙරුන්වහන්සේට ජනාධිපති සමාව දිය යුතුය. එය අපේ ආගම ජාතියට කරන යුතුකමක්.

Change of Regime in 2015 was for Sri Lanka  a march backwards from progress and development in  all aspects of life beginning from the elimination of a terrorism that lasted a thirty years of untold suffering  a nation could have faced.  Above all it was a backward  march from its Sinhala Buddhist historical past, its unique identity.

It was a paradox that the transition began by  a Buddhist monk Venerable Sobhitha thero. But once the change was initiated he did not live long enough to see the negative results coming from that change. The change came with a direct attack to Buddhism and  even today four years after the change, it is Buddhism that is still  being directly attacked.

Apart from the serious economic calamity the country faced with the government itself robbing its own Central Bank, the most negatively affected was its  legal system which has completely lost its Sri Lankan identity. Sri Lankan identity is first and foremost in its Sinhala Buddhist Culture and any direct or indirect attack of it changes the whole of what Sri Lanka is,  and if the people were to subscribe to that change we may as well call Sri Lanka hence forward Orumitta Nadu, and say good bye to the 2600 years of our historic past.

It is time at least now that we realise  the Independence from British colonial rule in  February,1948, was not regaining  our ancient values which were there before the country was colonised by  the Portuguese, then the Dutch  and finally the British. Though SWRD Bandaranaike was able to recover the ancient Sinhala national values, it was partial and Sri Lanka was never what it had been before the advent of the  Colonialists.

Seventy years after the end of colonialism, the administration, and the legal system did not change its colonial character. We have inherited a social class mentally imbibed with the colonial culture, which it values over and  above the  ancient Sinhala Buddhit culture we inherited from our forefathers. We were also impeded by Communal conflicts, from bringing  the country and the people to accept the  ancient Buddhist Cultural values including the Sinhala language we had sacrificed when we were forced  to accept foreign  values that came along with different colonial administrations from 1505.

The result is that we are still slavishly and mentally bound to English colonial values , and that is very much seen in our  legal system where the Judges still wear the English Wig and Cloak and the lawyers the black  tie , coat and the black English Cloak.  For our Universities a convocation ceremony for passing out Graduates is incomplete  without  the black cloak and the mortarboard. With these values that still mark the social status and academic achievements ancient Buddhist values have taken a backseat.

It is in this background that we have to see the change that took place on the 19 January,2015 with Ranil Wickramasinghe swearing in as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. That change pushed backwards the ancient pre-colonial values that SWRD Bandaranayake had tried to bring back, and Mahinda Rajapakse commenced to revitalise after eliminating 30 years of suffering under terrorism.

But with the change of regime in January,2015, the Colonial values have come back, while  ancient Buddhist values have been cast aboard. In 1956 SWRD initiated a change to get back the lost Sinhala Buddhist values, but he was snatched from the nation too early. Mahinda Rajapakse too helped to go a long way forward, but neither had he the time necessary  to bring changes to the Sri Lanka Legal System.

The white wigged black cloaked Speaker of the Parliament and the Judges sitting in  judgment with laws still fit for Colonial times , pay scant respect to ancient Buddhist Values  of Sri Lanka with which it was nurtured  for thousands of years,

The concept every one is equal  before the law  included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is followed to the letter by the very British white wigged judges in our  law courts. But in Sri Lanka a country marked by its  Sinhala Buddhist beginning there should have been a change in the rule of law at least with  regard to the offence of contempt of Court.

In the application of the law in Sri Lanka an exception should have been made to the Buddhist Clergy in view of the Constitutional protection given to  Buddhism  which  is the religion which  was there before the advent of the believers of Hinduism , Christianism and Islamism.

For the Sinhala Buddhists who venerates the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha, the Buddhist Monks are the third Jewel  after the Buddha and Dhamma. There is none equal to them. Therefore to hold them as criminals for a contempt of Court is an insult to the Buddha , Dhamma and Sangha the three jewels the Sinhala Buddhist majority hold sacred.

No layman has the right to accuse a Buddhist Monk for a Common Law Crime. If a Monk Commits a murder, he should first be reported to the Maha Sangha and disrobed by them before taken into Custody.   If a monk “scolds” or  “shouts” at some one in the precincts of a court, he has only spoken harsh words and it cannot be termed a crime, and a Buddhist Monk should not be  remanded or imprisoned , forcing him to disrobe on that account as he cannot be placed in the position of a layman. A Buddhist Monk has all the right  to speak in defence of his country.

In the case of a Buddhist Monk who has committed an offence , the Law should stand out side and allow the Maha Sangha to deal with the  monk. A Buddhist Monk in Sri Lanka should never be taken into custody by the police, or any accusation  made in the absense  of  the representative of the Maha Sangha.

The persons present in a British  Court got up when the Bailiff called out them to do so,  historically because the Judge carried the Bible when entering the Court, - and he was the representative of the King or Queen.  It was also to respect the Court house where the judge holds out the law.   In Sri Lanka a Buddhist Monk is above any lay person, and if he does not stand up when a judge walks in  he is not being disrespectful.

Before the change of Regime in January,2015, there was at least one occasion when a Buddhist Monk Present in Court was held for contempt of Court for not having stood up when the Judge came into the Court. These are matters that should have been settled when Sri Lanka became independent and had to organise customs and ceremonies coming down from colonial days  to suit Sri Lanka’s own cultural background.

There is no necessity for a new Constitution to Sri Lanka now. We can continue with the  1978 Constitution,  but an amendment  should be made to ascertain the protection for the Buddha Dhamma Sangha, and to provide them immunity from Law, and making it a Criminal Charge to do any act that would be an insult to Buddha, such as  defacing or damaging Buddha Statues and harm the person of a Buddhist Monk by way of insults or assaults.

In the meantime Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Maha Thero should be released from imprisonment and  an apology should be tendered   to him on behalf of the Sinhala Buddhists for all the inconveniences caused  to him and for  desecrating the Buddha Dhamma and Sangha  through his imprisonment and forcing him to disrobe during the period of his imprisonment.

Who wants a Constitution ?

The Maha Sangha Rathnaya of the three Nikaya, the Majority of the Sinhala Buddhists and according to Bishop Rev. Malcolm Ranjith the Catholics of Sri Lanka do not want a new Constitution. Then who is it who wants a Constitution for Sri Lanka ?

Of all things that have to be done in Sri Lanka- Sri Lanka which is on the verge of facing an enormous  economic, social and political calamity which would erupt to blow up the very existence of Sri Lanka, and the worst natural disasters one following the other such as the severe droughts,  several floods that ruined the country and left people dead and homeless,  and today  which it faces the worst of all disasters  the  fall army worm which is spreading fast  destroying all agricultural plants from corn to rice, and perhaps attack the tea plantations as well, why a new Constitution ?

However,  Ranil Wickramasinghe like Nero  who played his violin while Rome was burning, seems to be unaffected  by all the dangers  the country is facing, and averse to opposition raised by the venerable Monks and reverend  Bishop, seems to be  going ahead unconcerned with his effort to realise  his Presidential dream by giving a Federal Constitution written and approved by Sumanthiran and his lawyers  of the Tamil Diaspora.

Abraham Sumanthiran of TNA, who is taking a greater interest in passing the new Constitution for the benefit of the Tamils is  in fact not even a real Hindu Tamil, but a low caste Christian Tamil. It is said that only  the low caste Tamils became Christians as they were not even allowed to go to a Hindu Kovil or recite Sanscrit Slokas.

It is  all these half Tamils that wants Sri Lanka divided.  Chelvanayagam who proposed Federalism was a Christian too.  And the present Governor of Northern Province Suren Raghaven who is against Buddhisisation (as he calls) of North is also a Christian.  Wignesvaran the mad reired Judge is however living with bats in his belfry.  But the Sri Lanka Judges are however seem to be influenced by Christianity and Evangelical Church of America which is behind Ranil Wickramasinghe  and Rosy Senanayake.  

Perhaps  even those  judges who denied the people of Sri Lanka their democratic right of using their vote at an election to change the disaster of being ruled by Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe  also belonged, if not influenced by the Evengelical Churches in Colombo , helped Ranil to get re appointed as the Prime Minister.

A new Constitution is not essential for Sri Lanka specially under the Primiership of Ranil Wickramasinghe, who has proved himself to the people of Sri Lanka, as the most unreliable , untrustworthy politician who had thrice  in recent time taken  measures on his own to ruin Sri Lanka.

The first was as the Prime Minister of President Chandrika Kumaratunga when he signed  the CFA with the terrorist leader Prabhakaran, mediated by Solheim of Norway which allowed the terrorists to have  in the  North  areas under their control, allowing them to visit any part of the country, provided they did not carry guns ,  but not allowing any Government Official to enter the territories under the control of the terrorists.

The second betrayal of Sri Lanka was as the Prime Minister under President Maithripala Sirisena when he allowed a non citizen to be appointed as the Governor of the Central Bank and through him robbed Billions of rupees  from the Central Bank under a Bond scam.

The third betrayal is getting the Sri Lanka judiciary to stop the dissolution of Parliament  and got himself reappointed as the Prime Minister now  making all efforts to pass a Constitution prepared by the pro terrorists Tamils selling the rights of the Sinhala Buddhist majority of the Country for ever. Ranil Wickramasinghe as Prime Minister is helping Sumanthiran and Sambandan of  TNA to fulfil the dream of Prabhakaran.

A  Constitution of a Country is written by its indigenous majority population. No country gets its minority Community to write a Constitution for the Nation.

More over in the present exercise of preparing a new Constitution, Ranil’s government is not a popular government of the people elected by them, but a government usurped from the rightful people by a judicial manoeuvre. Therefore it  has no moral or legal right to prepare a Constitution for the Country.

Furthermore, the persons involved in writing the so called Constitution for the country are not trust worthy individuals. They are all in some way or other people with a criminal background. Ranil Wikramasinghe had been accused for maintaining torture camps in Batalanda, Lal Wijenayake  has also an  immoral past  it seems having copied at an examination and expelled from the examination hall, and Abraham Sumanthiran is an imposter, not being  a full fledged Tamil , as he is a Christian and his allegiance is not to the Hindu Religion of the Tamils of Sri Lanka, but to a foreign religion. 

Therefore they are all morally and legally unsuitable  dishonest people to write any document that decides on the future of  Sri Lanka with its long history and  its Sinhala Buddhist Culture, let alone writing a Constitution.

The 1978 Constitution lasted through out the worst period of terrorism in Sri Lanka and as the fear of a resurgence of terrorism is still not over, it is important to keep the Executive powers of the President,  though the fear of such powers in the hands of a man like Ranil Wickramasinghe  would be catastrophic. But the chances of his becoming a President of Sri Lanka is very little indeed.

Even the Government of the Prime Minister Ranil W is not  from recently elected MPs by the people, and the popularity of RanilW is reduced to a very small percentage of Colombians, the Muslims and Tamils. The  greater majority of the Sinhala Buddhists, and the Venerable Buddhist Monks are definitely against Ranil Wickramasinghe’s political leadership.

Therefore there attempt to present a Constitution in any form to the Parliament is questionable, and should be rejected by the Parliamentarians of all sides. The TNA the JVP and people like Champika, Kiriella, Muhabir Rahuman, Marikkar, and other UNP seniors and back benchers will want a new Constitution  but that is comparatively a small percentage of the population.

It is strange that,  it is the  political parties unpopular with the people at the moment that is presenting  a Constitutional to the Parliament . The TNA is not representative of the greater part of the country.  The JVP which has no popular following in the country and cannot get more than three or four MPs elected at a General election. They want  drastic changes to the present Constitution by introducing a 20^th Amendment.

These must be rejected as efforts by  unpopular political parties to create anarchy and through that to seize power if possible. The Parliamentarians of the left  and other well wishers of Sri Lanka should be alert  not to keep these trouble shooter of the UNP, TNA and JVP from engaging  foreign forces  to  intervene to divide the country. That seems to be the aim of the reactionary forces lead by UNP, TNA and JVP.

Prime Minister Ranil W, keeps lying to the public. Even after having presented a document which is apparently a Draft Constitution, RanilW says it is not a Constitution. But Sumanthiran says that the Constitution could be passed within a month as there is nothing to write as the document presented to the Parliament is in a Constitution format and it could be passed as it is (Hiru TV Salakuna 21 January,2019). Now who tells lies Ranil or Sumanthiran.

A new Constitution if ever to be written again should be written by the Sinhala Buddhists. The Tamil politicians should not have a say in the writing of it. Even the British when they wrote Constitutions for Sri Lanka gave the rightful place to Buddhism and foresaw to keep  unitary status of the Island.

The Tamils are not intelligent like the Black American minority in America or the Algerian , Vietnamien, and African minorities  in France. The Tamils have a savage Dravidian back ground ( with their traditional  worship of their Gods by hanging themselves in hooks  or rolling on the ground , and walk on fire ),  therefore more civilised rituals and Communal relationships cannot even be imagined by Sumanthirams, Sambandans, Senathirajans, Wigneswarans,  or Raghavans.  They will never create peace and harmony in Sri Lanka always wanting to be different.

Far too many concessions have been given to the Tamil by way of reconciliation, while the Tamil politicians have given nothing in return by way of appreciation  for the concessions that had been extended to them. Is it to satisfy such an ungrateful Community represented by these monstrous  Sumanthiran, Sambanthan, Senathirajans, Wigneswaran etc. that a new Constitution has to be passed  ?

The Secretary of Defence Hemasiri Fernando says that 11 Military Personnel are to be tried for war crimes  to please the Diaspora who would not thereafter  complain any more that no action had been taken against Military personal who had been accused for criminal offences. 

This has to stop.  In Afghanistan a group of American Soldiers killed Afghan Civilians just to cut off their fingers which they were collecting as souvenirs. No action were known to have been taken against these soldiers to please any one. The terrorists war is over , during terrorism many atrocities were committed  by the terrorists.

The armed forces did not commit any murder,  outside the military operations for the elimination of terrorism, there may have been killings which had not been accounted for. But it is time to forget that dark period of our history, and continue to live.  The Tamils can never be satisfied they will cry foul for ever, handing over their lamentations to the generations that follow.

The Tamils have made a profession of crying. In Kandyan homes I have heard that  they employed Tamil women to cry in homes when there was a death in the family, the Tamil women wail when ever people come  to pay their respect to the dead.

The Members of the Parliament if they have any patriotism towards Sri Lanka should reject the presentation of a Constitution or any thing that has any relation to a Constitution as a Draft, or a document in the initial stage of preparation of a Constitution.  The right thinking Parliamentarians with any intelligence should fall in line with the Parliamentary Opposition to get rid of  the government led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe supported by the TNA,JVP etc.

Sri Lanka does not want Ranil Wickramasinghe or any likes of him forming a Government to rule this Country.

Yasmin Sooka Instead of hunting for war criminals in Sri Lanka try helping the poverty stricken blacks in South Africa.

In many townships, residents use plastic portable public toilets. 

Yasmin Sooka, have you visited the poor Africans living in squalid conditions in Squatter Camps, seen with your eyes the misery of the poor blacks living in shanties of Johanesbourg or the living conditions in Barcelona with strewn filth ?

I am sure not Sooka, because you only write reports sitting in comfortable offices or speak to well off  political leaders who do not understand human suffering, and to  NGO parasites living on the miseries of others.

                                            

Yasmin Sooka what has truth and justice you direct given to the poor  South Africans still living in utter poverty  and in inhuman misery.

Yasmin Sooka was a member of a UN Panel which prepared a faulty report on Accountability in Sri Lanka for the personal use of  UN SG Ban Ki Moon- the Darusman report. It was prepared depending on emails and hearsay evidence collected from files and members of  the Tamils living abroad, most of them had not been in Sri Lanka during  terrorism to even know what it was like.

The Tamil  diaspora has a burning prejudice against Sri Lanka and its  Sinhala majority.  The report was accepted by UN Commissioner for Human  Right Navi Pillai a Tamil herself who hero worshipped the terrorist leader Prabhakaran, to accuse Sri Lanka Armed Forces for war crimes,  during her period of service in the UNHRCouncil and passed it on to Prince  Zeid Al-Hussein  who continued repression against  the Government imposing on it  the notorious resolution by America and the West for human rights violation and war crimes.

Yasmina Sooka’s only connection to Sri Lanka is her member ship in the Darusman Panel and her  friendship with Navy Pillai sworn enemy of the Sri Lanka Government and its Armed Forces. Sooka  wants to be in the international “lime light” by jumping now and then to accuse for no valid reasons  the Officers of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces.   

She accused former General Jagath Jayasuriy  when he was in Brazil for war crimes and that he should be taken into custody while abroad.  The latest is her condemnation of the Government of Sri Lanka for the appointment of Major General Shavendra Silva as the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces.

She had said  speaking about Majaor General Shavendra Silva, “The military officer is arguably the most wanted man in Sri Lanka–yet a decade later, tragically, he is being promoted instead of standing trial. 

Tamil survivors of the war, thousands of whom have been driven into exile since, have expressed horror that Silva has been chosen for such a senior military position. This is an incredible affront to the victims of that war–and jeopardises any reconciliation attempt in Sri Lanka,”

What Yasmin Sooka does not know, or does not want to acknowledge is the fact that, had it not been for the likes of  the Chief of Staff Shavendra Silva, the Tamil civilian population in the North and East would have been driven like cattle  by the terrorists from place to place in the jungles of the north  to be kept as human shields for their protection.

That suffering of the poor Tamil civilians neither Yasmin Sooka nor the Tamil Diaspora will never ever understand.

The Government armed forces of Sri Lanka never fought against the Tamil civilians , but against the terrorists who were Tamils. If they fought against the Tamils  why did the Sri Lanka Armed Forces specially the Division 58 led by Major General Shavendra Silva evacuated 320 thousand Tamil civilians forcibly kept by the terrorists as a human shield  under most  inhuman sanitary conditions ?

This continued accusation of our  of the officers of the Armed Forces by Yasmin Sooka should stop.  It is a humiliation for a man  who took risks for himself and his men to end the suffering of all  the people of Sri Lanka. Humiliation of that one man is a humiliation directed to all the people of Sri Lanka.

Therefore, the Government of Sri Lanka should initiate some sort of action through the Secretary General of the UN to stop Yasmin Sooka taking on herself the role of a “world police woman” hunting  for war Criminals,  as she has no official position to make false accusations any Officer of the Armed Forces of Sri Lanka..

The Armed Forces of Sri Lanka are respected by the people of Sri Lanka. All those officers and member of the Armed Forces who took an active part in the elimination of terrorism and putting an end to 30 years of suffering more of the Tamils of the north and East and other Communities in the rest of the country outside the North and East, are our heroes and saviours of the country and the people.  How dare does  Yasmin Sooka continue to be ittle our heroes and treat them as having committed war crimes in their legitimate war against the terrorists the enemies of Sri Lanka and its people.

No body has the right to make vain accusations against them and least of all Yasmin Sooka who made a false report knowing that it was false,  to dupe the UN and satisfy the Tamils of the Diaspora.

Let us see why Yasmin Sooka meddles in  an affair that does not concern her, when after her participation in  writing the false Daruman reports, she became the Director of the International Truth and Justice Project. If she has real humanitarian interests, why doe not she turn to South Africa, her own country where life is  not so  rosy to the majority of the  black South Africans who live below the poverty line.  

Yasmin Sooka has a long list of Commissions and Panels in which she served and many  writings of  all sorts of reports, as well as  making speeches  at forums , but Yasmina Sooka has not actively participated, and actually engaged herself in any project to ameliorate the conditions of the poor people in South Africa, whose human rights are daily in conflict, with government officials and the rich and well to do.

There is however not that great poverty in Sri Lanka after elimination of terrorism but living conditions of the Tamils as well as the Sinhala and Muslims have largely improved. The Sri Lankans live happily  despite the interference by persons like Yasmin  Sooka and members of multifarious  NGOs working in Sri Lanka earning their living accusing the  Armed Forces of Sri Lanka, and political leaders of the Sinhala Community opposing the puppet Government set up by  the West,  lead by a Prime Minister supported by the West  and the NGOs.

Yasmin Sooka  is still sought  after by the Sri Lanka Tamil politicians of the TNA to continually accuse the Armed Forces, as they want anti Sri Lanka  Armed Forces publicity continued as they are planning to have a Tamil only Provinces in the North and East without Army Camps  after helping the Present Ranil Wickramasinghe Government to prepare a Federal Government which they are determined to get passed in Parliament .

The Tamil Politicians down play the Sri Lanka’s development after  the  elimination of terrorism. There were proposals to set up a Truth and Justice project in the line of South Africa and even suggestion to put up a statue of Nelson Mandela.

Nelson Mandela  is of course a man respected for his indefatigable fight against South African Apartheid  and actively engaged himself until  the end of the racial regime.  The South Africans should put up statues of Nelson Mandela every where in South Africa as a reminder that South Africans should not  allow themselves to suffer once again  because of the colour of  their skin.  

But Yasmin Sooka has apartheid been completely erased from South Africa ?

Yasmin Sooka open your eye and see the suffering of your people in South Afrika, instead of trying to create misery where there is none in Sri Lanka. The trouble with Sri Lanka is that the Tamil  Politicians are living in a mental state of segregation, and suffer through a racial difference created on their own.

In South Africa the wealth is not reasonably distributed and  the people still lack land and wealth and suffer from utter poverty, that Sooka is economic apartheid. It is for you to get involved to finish what Nelson Mandela began to  liberate people  completely  both from social and economic segregation. You cannot do that by accusing our armed forces which liberated its people completely from terrorism and gave the people peace and security which you have not given to your own people.

What action did you  take against reported high level  corruption of the  President Jacob Zuma’s Government , will things be better under Cyril Ramaphosa ?

A Statue of Nelson Mandela has no place in Sri Lanka, as Sri Lanka never had apartheid and the Tamil people were and are as free as the Sinhala, and other minority Communities living in Sri Lanka. The comparison to apartheid, genocide by the Sinhala are  stories concocted  by the Tamil politicians to keep the Communities  separated and create a separate Eelam State led by the high Caste Tamil politicians. There is no reason why we should have a Statue of a political leader of  South Africa who emancipated his people from apartheid erected in our country. It is the high caste Tamils who create “ apartheid  against the low caste Tamils in Sri Lanka, not the Sinhala who treat every one equal.

But we should have statues erected for the Armed Forces that freed the country and the people from terrorism. We should have a statue of Major General Shavendra Silva in Jaffna as it was Major General Shavendra Silva and his 58 Division that led its assault against the terrorists to liberate 320 000 Tamil Civilians kept as human shields under repressive condition without prper sanitary conditions, food , water or even clean clothes to wear.

South Africa unlike Sri Lanka is a country with great potentials for development. It is, better than many other African States but still second to Nigeria in development.  But the wealth as much of the land is in the hands of the rich white population.  While not only the poor blacks but well  over 400 000 white south Africans are living in poverty in squalid conditions in squatter camps. This is being challenged by some white media reporters as they do not want to put the poverty stricken whites along side the blacks.

 Education system is much to be desired. The schools have no adequate  space and the Principles of Schools are corrupt squandering money from school accounts. The private schools are better, but the poor cannot afford to send their children to them  There is no teacher training . Parents yearn to have their children educated but they cannot afford to do so.  The gap between the rich and the poor is far greater. Tin and mud shacks in which the poor live in squalid conditions jostle besides luxury mansions of the rich. Health Care in South Africa is low and not within the reach of the poor blacks.

There is an increasing crime rate , and never ending streams of immigrant coming from countries in the rest of Africa. The government puts the increasing crime rate  to the inflow of  immigrants.

The South Africa has been nominally freed from apartheid , but the black Africans have not been freed from economic  apartheid as yet . The Indians and others like Yasmin Sooka are better off than the native Africans , but being better off Yasmin Sooka is interested in doing service to Tamils in Sri Lanka and not helping the  poor black Africans who need every ones help to find their way out of poverty.

I give some internet references below to educate Yasmin Sooka what her duties should be as a South Africans. She should leave her interest in looking after the interest of Tamils in Sri Lanka and  ask her self how to help her own people suffering in South Africa, as they are worse off than the Tamils in Sri Lanka.
